If you are like most Pinoys, you must have a sweet tooth. You cannot go without ending a meal with dessert. If you happen to be in Baguio and it hits you, we’ve got you covered. Check out these five sweet stops for all kinds of yummy, sugary stuff.

Sweet Stop 1: Glyco Sweetshop

Before Vanilla Cupcake Bakery made its way to the Summer Capital, several small bakeshops were already making a name for themselves in the local scene.

Glyco Sweetshop located at DPS Compound, near the Victory Liner terminal serves up yummy and moist cupcakes. Don’t be fooled by their quaint little shop, which only has a handful of chairs and tables for patrons. They make custom made cakes and cupcakes, which is the bulk of their business. Glyco is one of the sweet stops you should not miss.

What they have on hand at the shop are their moist cupcakes. They have different flavors on offer: Red Velvet, Banana Walnut, Matcha (Green Tea), and Chocolate among others. Their Red Velvet cupcake stands out with its perfect combination of moist red velvet cake and rich, creamy cream cheese frosting. Prices range from 40 to 45 pesos per cupcake. While you are there, also try their Mestizaje, a dessert made of layers of nutty meringue, vanilla custard, ice cream and fluffy meringue.

Sweet Stop 2: Sweet Stop Bakeshop

Another small bakeshop is Sweet Stop Bakeshop, with branches in La Azotea Building, Session Road and Gen. Luna Street. While the Session Road branch only features a stall, the one on Gen. Luna has a small dining area. You can enjoy their cupcakes with warm drinks such as hot chocolate and coffee. Cupcake flavors include Green Tea, Rainbow Velvet and Toasted Marshmallow.

Sweet Stop 3: Tsokolateria

An import from Cavite, Tsokolateria brings native chocolate back to life with its hot chocolate concoctions. Aside from different types of hot choco, the restaurant also offers food items inspired by cacao.

Items for the sweet tooth in the menu include Original Tablea, Tablea Mallows and Tablea with Sili. Two people can share an order of any of the hot chocolate drinks. Their Tablea Mallows is a good choice – you get to enjoy the sweetness of melted marshmallows with the strong bittersweet flavor of the tablea.

Sweet Stop 4: Vizco’s

Unlike the other bakeshops, Vizco’s needs no introduction. This homegrown restaurant has established itself as having the best Strawberry Shortcake in town. Aside from the Strawberry Shortcake however, they also have an excellent Red Velvet cake and an Ube Macapuno cake. Vizco’s is located along Session Road, with a shop in SM Baguio.

Sweet Stop 5: Sweetmates Cakes

Sweetmates Cakes is a relatively established shop as well. With branches at Legarda, Porta Vaga, SM Baguio and A Hotel, it serves different types of cakes including cheesecakes. They also accept made-to-order cakes through their branches.

A must-try is their version of Salted Caramel Cheesecake. It has the right amount of sweetness, tang and saltiness, which goes perfectly with a cappuccino. Other cheesecake flavors include Oreo, Blueberry and Strawberry. Once in a while, they offer an Unli-Cake promo with unlimited drinks, probably the only one among the sweet stops to do so.
