Miss Universe Latina Candidates Criticizes Semi-Finalist as ‘Fat’

According to Eonline Mexico, a group of Latinas that includes Miss Venezuela Mariam Habach, Miss Mexico Kristal Silva, Miss Panama Keity Drennan, Miss Ecuador  Connie Jimenez,  Miss Argentina, Estefania Bernal, and Miss Guatemala Virginia Argueta allegedly criticized one of the semi-finalists as being “fat.” Although the specific semi-finalist has not been mentioned in the video, some have assumed that the Latinas were indirectly referring to Ms. Canada or Miss Colombia. These two candidates were rumored to have gained weight during the pageant.

The translation of the controversial video says, “Here we are the Latin queens,” says the Argentine. Then the Venezuelan intervened and said: “we are eating to get fat and see who wins now.”

Miss Venezuela Gets Criticized for Bad Behavior in Controversial Videos

Miss Venezuela Mariam Habach gets criticized for ‘pinching’ Miss Columbia Andrea Tovar’s back during a red carpet event during the pageant. Many have expressed their frustration for Miss Venezuela calling her “arrogant,” “nasty,” “venomous,” a “hypocrite,” and “evil.” One comment expressed, “Whether the pinch is intentional or not, it is still improper to do it to a fellow candidate who did not know her in the first place. Mariam should have just gently tapped Andrea to get her attention, and not by pinching her!!!!!” Watch the telling video here.

In response, another reacted saying, “Thats the reason why she’s not include in the Top 13 (because of her) atittude.” If that wasn’t enough, Miss Venezuela also stepped on Miss Peru’s (Valeria Piazza) gown while she was recording a live video. Check out the video here.
