Kapamilya star Vice Ganda could not help but admire Kapuso star Alden Richards’ good looks when the two met at the Box Office Entertainment Awards on May 14. Despite the rivalries between the stars’ networks, Vice Ganda had a pleasant face to face encounter with Alden as shown in a selfie she shared on Instagram.

According to an Inquirer report, both stars graced the recently concluded 48th Guillermo Mendoza Box Office Entertainment Awards at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater, Ateneo de Manila University.

Vice Ganda On Alden: ‘Ang gwapo!’

Vice Ganda shares her selfie with Alden via Instagram, with the caption “Ang gwapo!” and several lovestruck emojis. Her open admiration for Alden was refreshing, considering that they both come from noontime shows that have been tight rivals for the longest time.

Alden is known for his hit kalyeserye on Eat Bulaga, on GMA-7, while Vice Ganda is a regular host of It’s Showtime on ABS-CBN. According to daily TV ratings, Eat Bulaga and It’s Showtime are consistently among the top 10 most watched daytime shows.

According to a PEP.ph report, the encounter happened while both stars were getting ready to take their designated seats before the start of the awards ceremony. PEP.ph was also able to snap a photo of Vice Ganda and Alden.

Even if the selfie can no longer be found on Vice Ganda’s Instagram account, several fans were able to capture it and share it on social media. Among the common reactions from netizens was praise for such a “cordial face-to-face” despite coming from rival shows.

In related news, Vice Ganda received the Phenomenal Star award for her movie The Super Parental Guardians, by ABS-CBN’s sister company, Star Cinema. Alden, on the other hand, received the award of Prince of Philippine Movies for Imagine You and Me. He also bagged the Male Recording Artist of the Year award.
