POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG/RECAP: Mark Michael Garcia proves to be worthy of the golden microphone as he now has six straight wins. On Tawag Ng Tanghalan Sept 7 episode, he works his way another step closer to becoming a TNT hall of famer. Yesterday, Mark won over daily winner Arnel Rosal from Iligan City singing “All Of Me” by John Legend. Who wins today’s face-off? Let’s find out.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Sept 7 performances, daily winner, and champion

Kathleen Anne Galula from Laguna sings “Mama Knows Best” by Jessie J. Kathleen is a singer, scriptwriter and director of musical plays for their broadway school organization. In her spare time, she does calligraphy. Kathleen has been joining amateur singing contests and nothing will stop her from pursuing her ultimate dream of becoming a well-known singer. She hopes winning would help her provide for what her mom needs for her goiter operation.

The judges were in on a discussion while Kathleen was singing. Judge Jaya said she saw and heard a bit of rock and blues which was right for her song choice. She called Kathleen versatile and said she liked the fact that she was experimental. Judge Karylle also loved her voice and performance and called her voice fabulous.

Joseph Escalana from Negros Occidental sings “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” Ariel Rivera. Joseph didn’t quite grow up with his family. His dad is in Saudi while his siblings are in different areas in the Philippines. He made good for himself working as a mess man for a cargo ship and eventually was promoted as chief cook. Now that he has a family of his own, he hopes that he wouldn’t need to work far away from them. Joseph gives it his all as he performs on the TNT stage.

Head Judge Gary Valenciano said Joseph’s voice was like Martin Nievera and Erik Santos. He said Joseph had the ingredients of a good vocalist and said that he is on his way to becoming a good singer. All he needs is a bit more emotion to his performance.

Hannah Grace Balaba from Agusan del Sur sings “Anak Ng Pasig.” Hannah is singing teen who makes sure she gets all straight As in class. She’s a dedicated student and is also dedicated to reaching her dreams of becoming a famous singer someday. Hannah has been joining singing contests since she was grade four. She hopes her experience would at least bring her forward in the competition.

Judge Mitoy understood that at 14, Hannah had a long way to go in pursuing her dreams and encouraged her to keep going. Judge Nyoy said she had the qualities of a good singer. She had the voice and the technique and said she had a bright future in the industry. He just wished she had more heart but knows that would come in time.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Sept 7 daily winner, face-off, and champion. Today’s daily winner garnering an average score of 92.2 percent is Kathleen Anne Galula. 

Two RnB singers are on to the title. Who wins this battle? For the face-off Kathleen sang “Kunin Mo Na Ang Lahat Sa Akin” by Angeline Quinto. Six-time defending champion Mark Michael Garcia took on Luther Vandross singing “I’d Rather.”

TNT Sept 7 champion winning with an average score of 91.8 percent is Mark Michael Garcia. This is Mark’s seventh win on the show. Three more and Mark becomes a TNT hall of famer.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan airs Mondays to Saturdays on ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime at noon.
