Shortly thereafter, Mayor Benjamin Magalong signed Executive Order 65 placing Baguio City under community quarantine extending the suspension of classes until April 15. With so much information circulating social media, Baguio residents get a bit confused. Here are some of the things you have to know about the Baguio Community Quarantine. Baguio Community Quarantine – Baguio curfew, transportation and more Who needs to get TRAVEL PERMITS? Residents using private cars or motorcycles to go buy groceries or medicines or for medical check-ups, go for laundry or go to the bank for financial transactions. Who DOESN’T NEED to get TRAVEL PERMIT? – Residents belonging to the health and medical sector, pharmaceutical/drugstore; – Persons working in the establishments providing basic necessities and such as activities related to food and medicine production i.e. public markets, supermarkets, groceries, convenience stores, hospitals, medical clinics, pharmacies and drug stores, food preparation and delivery services, water-refilling stations, hardware stores, laundry services, manufacturing and processing plants of basic food products and medicines, banks, money transfer services, power, energy, water and telecommunication. – BPO workers; Uniformed and government employees on duty, utility company workers WITHIN THE CITY. – Persons walking o their destination for essential purposes. Who needs to Register in the barangay? Residents availing of the public transport services arranged by the barangays DO NOT NEED to get Travel Permit – just register in the barangay for monitoring. In buying basic needs, only one person per household is allowed. Face masks must be used at all times when going out to buy basic needs. Groceries, retail shops, drug stores and other establishments selling essential items are ordered not to accept clients/customers who are not wearing face masks. Wearing masks for drivers and employees should be observed at all times while in transit. Vehicles should not be filled up to its capacity to allow a one-meter distance of passengers from each other. Identification cards should be worn at all times for random check at checkpoints located in various parts of the city. Motorcycles will still be allowed as means of transportation during emergencies, for food deliveries, workers under the foodservice and food manufacturing, health and uniformed personnel, utilities and BPO workers. However, “Angkas” will no longer be allowed. If you have any medical emergency, a special taxi service is also established. Eight taxi units are placed on call to address this need and they should strictly adhere to the policy of ferrying only those on Medical emergencies or needing emergency medical checkups. The 9 am – 5 pm curfew is only for those who are work at establishments providing basic necessities. The Baguio City Police implemented a stricter check on this starting March 18. Processing of Business Permit is temporarily suspended as a precaution to the COVID-19 threat. Business owners with last name starting from Q to Z whose schedule of business permit processing is within the Month of March will not be surcharged. Payment of taxes and Cedula at the City Treasury Office is likewise suspended until April 14, 2020. Donations (both perishable and non-perishable items) will be received and managed by the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development headed by Ms. Betty Fangasan. Starting Monday, 23 March 2020, the drop-off point for donations and relief purchases will be transferred to the PFVR Gymnasium along Military Cut-off Road for a wider space.
