In tonight’s episode, four heartthrobs are up for elimination: Ford, James, Tony and Tristan. All four will sing their survival songs tonight in the hopes that the voters or the judges will save them. After tonight, three contestants will continue their boyband dream and compete in the grand finals, while one contestant will be eliminated. #BoybandPHLastElim Tony and Tristan Sing For Survival First up to perform are Tony and Tristan. After Tristan’s performance of “I Don’t Wanna Bore You With It,” Tony sang “Pagkat Mahal Kita” and after their performance, host Billy Crawford called on judge Aga to give his comments. Aga emphasized that tonight’s performance should be the time for the boys to step up. For him, both boys are “vocally ok” but in terms of seeing an “all-out performance,” he did not see it tonight. Judge Yeng then gave her comments. While she agreed with Aga about the two boy having the same vocal quality, she said that Tony stood out tonight, as always. For Tristan, she noted that this is the only time that she is seeing Tristan’s personality. #BoybandPHLastElim Ford and James Perform After a commercial break, the next two boys were up. James chose to sing Maroon 5’s “Sunday Morning.” It was immediately followed by Ford’s performance of Sam Smith’s “I’m Not The Only One.” After they sang, host Billy called on Vice Ganda to provide his insights. Vice expressed disappointment that none of the boys did not show any boyband moves and all of them sang slow songs. Given that this was the last elimination round, all-out performances were expected. Vice noted that Ford did not show his “heart” in his performance, which Vice considered as his “worst” one so far. On the other hand, James’ confidence was too much which was also not good. Judge Dara praised them for their good song choice and she said she enjoyed the performances. Host Billy then opened the voting. Pinoy Boyband Superstar Superfans Have Voted: Ford and Tony Safe When the show came back on after a break, the first four grand finalists did a dance number to Vice Ganda’s “Ang Kulit,” which Vice performed on stage. Voting was declared closed after the production number. Host Billy then announced the results of the voting. Getting the highest number of votes with an average score of 42.56%, he called on Ford to be join the grand finalists. With the second highest number of votes and an average score of 33.19%, the next contestant to join the grand finalists is Tony. Pinoy Boyband Superstar Seventh Grand Finalist Tristan Each of the judges were asked to vote who to save. Aga gave his vote for James, while Yeng voted for Tristan. When it was Dara’s turn to vote, she voted for James. The last to vote was Vice and her choice is Tristan. Given that it’s a tie, host Billy said that they need to go back to the public voting results. With an average score of 12.71%, Billy declared Tristan as the seventh grand finalist. This left James as the last boy to be eliminated from the contest. The final seven grand finalists: Ford, Joao, Mark, Niel, Russell, Tristan and Tony will come back for the grand finals next weekend, also called the Grand Reveal.
