Tawag Ng Tanghalan Dec 3 Episode: Froilan Canlas Fights For Semifinalist Spot

On yesterday’s episode, defending champion Froilan Canlas brought home another win. On Tawag Ng Tanghalan Dec 3 episode, defending Froilan battles new contenders. Winning this episode would mean a spot on the semi finals. Here’s what you missed.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan December 3 Performances

First performance was contender Kurt Harris Fermin from Tondo. This 16-year-old grade 11 ‘lola’s boy’ is teased by his classmates because of his skin color. Kurt sang “Kulang Ako Kung Wala Ka” by Erik Santos. Hurado Yeng said she liked Kurt’s voice quality but he wasn’t on point in some of his notes. Hurado Karla Estrada said his contest piece was not for a contest like Tawag Ng Tanghalan.

On a side note, another drama by Vhong and Vice. All because Vice said Vhong used to have Kurts skin color and looked looked like Kurt before.

Next on stage was 30-year-old Darne Andales from Cebu. Darne’s name is a combination of her parent’s terms of endearment to each other, Darling and Honey. She lives with her partner of 7 years. They have a 7-month-old baby. Darne used to sing at hotels but now she and her partner runs their business selling empanadas.  Darne sang “Big Spender” and it seems the judges were having fun.

Hurado Rey Valera said Darne wasn’t used to performing in in front of an audience who were actually watching but she tried. Hurado Rey said Darne proved that Cebuanos really have a talent in singing.

Last contender was 23-year-old Michael Ryan Romero from Zamboanga. Michael had to stop school because of finances. He is now on the hunt for a job. His friends and family say he has a good voice so he tried his luck on Tawag Ng Tanghalan. Michael sang “Yesterday” for the judges showcasing his vocal riffs and a bit of falsetto.

Hurado Karylle said Michael’s contest piece was a good choice. She also said Michael doesn’t realize how talented he is. Hurado Jaya said R&B is a hit or miss and today Michael was a hit and just said he had to have more confidence.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan December 5 Champion

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Saturday daily winner is Michael Ryan Romero garnering an average score of 93.8 percent. Michael sang “Mandy” by Barry Manilow to battle defending champion Froilan Canlas. Froilan sang “The Shadow of You Smile” to battle daily winner Michael. Froilan gave a performance with his signature falsetto voice.

Both Froilan and Michael gave very good performances. But it was Froilan Canlas who won today’s battle with an average score of  giving him a spot on Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s Quarter 4 Semi-finals.
