Tawag Ng Tanghalan Dec 14 Episode: Angelo Ramos vs New Contenders

POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG: On yesterday’s episode, Nestor Mateo stepped down as defending champion as he handed over the mic and title to Angelo Ramos. Angelo’s story and performance moved the judges with the song “This is the Moment.” Today, bread winner Angelo takes the stage to battle new contenders from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Will he make it for another win today?

Tawag Ng Tanghalan December 14 Performances

First on stage was Dezza Guevarra from Muntinlupa. This Fifteen-year-old is a certified achiever in school. Dezza looks up to singers like Sarah Geronimo, Charice Pempengco and Yeng Constantino. She chose to sing “One Night Only” by Jennifer Hudson hoping to impress the judges.

Hurado Billy gave advise instead of comments. He advised Dezza to remove some of her ‘growling’ and has to be careful of her notes. Song choice is also one factor because the song seemed to be more for adults.

Next on stage was Almae Castillo from Leyte. Almae is a graduating Mechanical Engineering student. She sings at a hotel in Leyte where she met her boyfriend. Almae is so in love that she dedicates her song to everyone who is in love. To top it off, Almae sang Ella Fitzgerald’s “Bewtiched, Bothered and Bewildered.”

Hurado Rey Valera said, “Napakagaling” and added he really loved Almae’s tone quality. He also  said he was bewitched, impressed and in love.

Last contender was 26-year-old Clarencez Almain. Clarencez is a student by day and ‘nanay’ by night. For her contest piece, Clarence sang “Hopelessly Devoted” from the movie “Grease.” Hurado K Brosas liked her confidence, personality and ‘harot’ on stage. Hurado Erik Santos said Clarencez was so pleasing on stage but she has to be careful whenever she reaches high notes but over all it was a good performance.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan December 14 Champion, Wednesday Daily Winner

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Wednesday daily winner is Almae Castillo from Luzon garnering an average score of 92.8 percent. For the battle round, Almae sang “Cry Me A River” to hopefully win the hearts of the Hurados. Defending champion Angelo Ramos battled Almae with the song “I’ll Never Go Far Away From You” hoping to keep his place as defending champion.

Angelo Ramos gives the ‘golden microphone’ to the new defending champion Almae Castillo who won with an average score of 92.4 percent.
