Tawag Ng Tanghalan Feb 1

POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG/RECAP: Happy first day of the love month everyone! On Tawag Ng Tanghalan yesterday, defending champion Crismille Vallente got her third win. She beat daily winner Arsemio Adlawan Jr. with an average score of 94.8 percent. Both singers did a great job and considering their age gap, the fight was really a close one. Today, Crismille goes for her fourth win which makes her closer to making it to the semi-finals. Will she get her fourth win today?

“It’s Showtime” had a very special guest today. International singer Patti Austin graced the stage and sang “You Gotta Be” and also promoted her concert which happens two days. For more information on tickets and venue click here.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Feb 1 Performances

First on stage was Marvie Camacho from Valenzuela City. The twenty-seven-year-old mother of two sells leche flan for a living and also services manicure and pedicure part time. She and her live-in partner of nine years try to make ends meet. Marvie has been trying to apply as a singer abroad but she’s been deceived by agencies all the time. Now, she takes the stage singing “When You Tell Me That You Love Me,” hoping to win the competition for her kids. Hurado Billy and Mitoy said Marvie’s voice was powerful but because of that power, she went sharp in hitting the high notes.

Resbaker Adelene Rabulan from Bulacan was the next challenger. This fifteen-year-old Grade 10 student joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan on July 14. Unfortunately, she was defending champion for one day. Now that she’s back, Adelene remembered what hurado Billy Crawford said before. He said Adelene had an “international voice” and said that with hard work and dedication she can go a long way. Adelene sang “At Last” hoping to once again impress the judges. Hurado Yeng said she liked Adelene’s performance most especially her stage presence.

Last contender was Nico Luaton from Leyte. Nico is a guitarist and vocalist of a band. Nico had a tough time and only finished second-year high school. He was with the wrong company and decided to change when he was involved in a raid. He was detained for one week and his parents helped him get out. He takes all his experiences and performed “Foolish Heart” on Tawag Ng Tanghalan hoping to win and give back to his parents. Hurado liked the natural raspiness of his voice and commended him on his originality.
