A Love To Last Feb 28: Tracy As Andeng’s ALTL Dr. Love
In the previous ALTL episode, Tracy (Matet de Leon) tells Andeng the story of a woman who died without expressing her love for someone. Andeng seems affected enough. Her expressions suggest she does not want to die without telling Anton how she feels.
ALTL Feb 28 starts with Andeng sending a message to Anton, mistakenly sending him a ‘miss you’ emoji in their group chat with Tracy. Anton receives it grinning like a high school kid. He shrugs off the mistake, saying “Na-miss din kita,” and he later corrects “kita” to “kayo.”
At school, Chloe (Julia Barretto) helps Tupe (Ronnie Alonte) in asking Jenna (Claire Ruiz) on a date. Chloe winds up becoming the third wheel in their date. It seems the journey is going to be long for these teens. In the next scene, Grace (Iza Calzado) is dropping hints so Andeng would know that she is marking her territory in Anton and Chloe’s life.
Later, Greg Hoffman talks to Anton and teases him on his working relationship with Andeng. The boss plans out dinner with Anton, but the latter does not know that the charming older man has some Cupid-ish plans. Greg calls Andeng, asking for a “date.” As fate would have it, Andeng gets a call from Victoria Madrigal (Pilar Pilapil). And that’s how they wind up on a double date. The chemistry is all-sparks for Greg and Victoria.
From the start of the double date, things get interesting really fast. Germany comes up in the conversation. “Was [Germany] romantic?” Victoria asks. Anton automatically says yes, only to hold back and explain that the place itself is romantic. Andeng echoes his reply.
ALTL Galawan: Tupe Can’t Stop Talking About Chloe
While on his date, Tupe could not stop talking about Chloe. Jenna, who has earlier asked Chloe if she is romantically interested in Tupe, senses she may not be “the one” for Tupe.
Back on Anton’s date with Andeng, the two get to talking about “the one.” Andeng explains it’s about connection. “Pati ‘yung mga puso n’yo nag-uusap,” Andeng explains. Anton comments Andeng’s views about destiny is very youthful. Anton says it is not all about sparks. “It’s about being there for the other person – during good times, and during bad times, not ever letting go, even when your heart and mind say so.” Andeng smiles at the way he explains it.
After the commercial, a musician approaches Anton and Andeng, ready to play romantic music for the couple. The two decide they don’t want to let the music play, at least not yet. Anton then invites Andeng out for a walk outside the restaurant. They talk about Kitty, and then somehow, Anton gets back to talking about love. He says he wants her kids to know about love, the kind that will not leave them.
“Parang naiinis s’ya sa lahat ng sinasabi ko,” Tupe reports to Chloe about his failed date with Jenna. He goes to as far as saying, “Mas gusto kita kasama.” Chloe is touched, but she is obviously confused, if not troubled. ALTL goes back to Andeng and Anton. They are now talking about Marvin the Martian and laughing like good old friends.
Fans Can’t Handle Anton and Andeng Sweet Dance
Toward the end of the episode, Anton tells Andeng that when he was younger, he believed in soulmates, too. He could still change his mind, he says. Greg calls them back in the restaurant. The elder Cupid talks about a “crush combined with longing.” These are words in Jose Mari Chan’s Afraid For Love To Fade. Encouraged by Greg, Anton finally asks Andeng for a dance.
Twitter exploded with reactions the minute Anton and Andeng get to the dancing floor. Greg and Victoria could sense there is definitely something more between the two. The episode ends with Andeng and Anton texting, thanking each other for a beautiful night.
In the next episode, Xian Lim returns as Totoy. From the looks of it, Anton will act like a jealous boyfriend. This is another must-watch ALTL episode.
