Actor and stage performer Bernardo Bernardo passed away on Thursday, March 8, at the age of 73. There are no confirmations as to the cause of death but it is known to many that he has been going through treatment for a tumor in his pancreas since January. Celebrities like Lea Salonga, Boy Abunda, Jed Madela, MJ Felipe and more have been mourning the loss of yet another actor and sending messages on Twitter.

Bernardo Bernardo is a host, singer, actor, and stand-up comedian. He is famously known for his role as Steve Carpio in the hit TV series, “Home Along Da Riles” in the 90s. In 1981, Bernardo won the Gawad Urian Best Supporting Actor for his role as Manay Sharon in “Manila By Night.” He migrated to the US early 2000s. He came back to the Philippines after around 10 years. Bernardo’s last projects were “Ang Larawan” and “The Significant Other.”

Interaksyon reported that on Thursday morning, Bernardo’s niece, Susan Vecina Santos, confirmed the death of Bernardo via the actor’s Facebook page. There is no confirmed news on the cause of the death but in January this year, Bernardo posted on Facebook that he was in need of prayers. Bernardo says that he was suffering from clinical depression, anxiety attacks, and a “life-threatening growth” in his pancreas. He also said that he has lost his appetite for food and has been losing weight significantly. In January, he celebrated his 73rd birthday.

On Twitter, celebs like Lea Salonga, Boy Abunda, Mj Felipe, Jed Madela, Ruby Rodriguez and more have been mourning the loss of yet again another great actor.

Bernardo Bernardo, who died at the age of 73, is someone who will always be remembered in the entertainment industry and in the hearts of his friends, colleagues, and of course, his family.
