Isidro over the weekend called Duterte a psychopath, drawing both applause and flak from the public, including a La Salle professor. Here are seven things to know about the story: 1. Agot Isidro called President Duterte a psychopath. Agot Isidro on Oct. 7 took to Facebook to express her insights on President Duterte. Agot Isidro, who had earlier spoken about seeing a psychiatrist for mental health, encouraged the public to look into the definition of a psychopath. The Psychology Today article reads: “The key qualities of the psychopath, a.k.a. person with antisocial personality disorder, include committing acts that harm others (and showing no remorse), being incapable of showing empathy, engaging in impulsive behaviors, being sexually promiscuous, and manipulating others to get his or her own way.” Isidro had earlier said, “I’ve been very vocal about [psychotherapy]. One shouldn’t be ashamed to admit that one needs help.” 3. Malacañang has responded to Agot Isidro’s Facebook post. According to the Inquirer, Presidential Spokersperson Erneto Abella said that while the actress is entitled to her own opinion, “we need to really hear what the President is calling Filipinos to do, which is be free from dependence on foreign aid, which is what the lady is fearful we will lose.” He further said, “The President is calling for Filipinos to be truly independent economically and mentally and psychologically.” 4. In an elaborate reaction to Isidro’s ‘psychopath’ post, a La Salle professor said, “(C)ountries do not behave like the soap opera characters you play.” See his post below: The De La Salle Professor, Antonio P. Contreras, further said, “Agot Isidro should be ashamed of herself. What she said is precisely what happens when you become mendicant. You think heavens will fall and we will get hungry just because of the US and the EU are pissed off. ” The professor added in a separate post: Antonio Contreras is a political analyst and a professor of Political Science. 5. Agot Isidro’s personal life was attacked by bashers over her comments. Some netizens have claimed the reason for her separation from former husband Manu Sandejas was she could not get pregnant.
