Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Stunning At Cannes 2017 In Filipino Couture By Mark Bumgarner And Michael Cinco

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan took center stage at the Cannes 2017 Film festival on May 20. She looked beautifully sophisticated wearing couture gowns by Filipino designers Mark Bumgarner and Michael Cinco.

The Bollywood A-lister’s first look was a ball gown by Mark Bumgarner made distinctly special with Mikado silk and intricate floral embroidery. Aishwarya’s second entrance was made stylish with the icy-blue ball gown she wore from the Impalpable Dream of Versailles Collection of Michael Cinco.

When it comes to fashion, Mark tells the Inquirer that he developed an interest in it while traveling around the world as a racer. He said that seeing different women with different styles and tastes from other cultures and places made him embrace fashion design. Mark Bumgarner has since then made a name for himself. From being a race car driver to finding his niche in the fashion industry. Today, Mark’s pieces in the Fall/Winter 2017 collection are now available online. This comes with other high-fashion labels like Alexander Wang and Marni, among others.

Filipino Fashion Designers Make Raves in High-Fashion

In an interview with MEGAstyle, Mark says that the gown Aishwarya wore is a 200-hour labor of love. He was inspired so much by the fleur as seen in how the ball gown was intricately made of “laminated French lace and colorful embroidery.” Indeed, how the Indian actress so-elegantly carried herself in the ball gown was a show-stopper, she and the gown were the talks of the town in the social media. Click here to see photo.

Michael Cinco’s design is hard to miss. The Dubai-based fashion designer has once again made a mark. The second dress that Aishwayra wore was made classically extravagant. It is at these moments of fashion that assures the world that fairy tales do come true. Well, at least, looking the part, right?

Michael’s eye for fashion began with his love for Hollywood’s glamour and elegance. Michael is particular with luxurious intricacy in detailed fabrics and Swarovski crystals. It is inspired by Marlene Dietrich, Grace Kelly, Joan Crawford and Audrey Hepburn. Architecture also plays the part of his muse as seen in his recent Haute Couture collection, inspired by the Palace of Versailles. Click here to see photo.

From Samar, the Philippines to Dubai, Paris, and London, it is to be expected that in time the world will be a lot smaller for Michael. To prove this, just recently, Nicki Minaj wore a couture by Michael Cinco. This beaded black dress was worn by Nicki at the recent Billboard Music Awards 2017. Click here to see the photo.

Filipino Designers are headstrong in putting Philippine craftsmanship on the map. The international scene continues to prefer Filipino designs for the most prestigious celebrities and international events. This simply proves that the fact that the Philippines is headed for a Renaissance. We can all agree with the words of Mark Bumgarner seen in the Megastyle. He said, “To be able to create a dress from the Philippines and to be worn by an international celebrity on a world stage means the Filipino craftsmanship is ready to take on the global scene.”
