It hasn’t been a year yet, but it feels like Christmas is coming early! The creators of the creepy, fright-oozing film “Seklusyon” has got an early present for movie buffs to dive themselves in. Directed by Katski Flores, this new Erik Matti film is going to shake the genre of Exorcism. The teaser may have sparked some intrigue, but it lacked the plot story people are most hungry about. Fortunately, they released the trailer, which, finally gives the fans an idea on what this horror film is all about.
In the teaser, the story exposes a lot of lead actresses Shy Carlos and Sarah Lahbati. In the trailer, it finally distinguishes their roles. Shy Carlos is none other than the eerie, not-so-innocent looking Leah Dela Cruz. Meanwhile, Sarah Lahbati is the police officer, Ruth.
Apparently, Leah’s been acting strangely, until it reaches the point where she harms other people. People around community then begin to think there is something wrong with her. Soon, she is brought to the hospital after climbing up the veranda and jumping.
Ruth comes in to volunteer and investigates the events. She believes that there was someone else in the balcony when Leah jumped. Thus, her conviction in pushing through with digging through the mysterious events that have transpired since. With Leah’s slow and painful fall into the pit of darkness, her parents’ relationship deteriorates, her beloved turns desperate, and the nation will witness the redefining of Philippine horror.
On the last few seconds of the trailer, we hear the voice of Leah, screaming in sheer agony, that someone needs to be saved. Someone needs to survive. Who could it be? Eight days before we find out!
‘Seklusyon’ fans looking forward to ‘Ang Pagsanib kay Leah Dela Cruz’
Fans have expressed their excitement on twitter, some even comparing it to the new addition to the Erik Matti movies. It is observed though, that like “Seklusyon’s” Anghela, Leah will also have a confidant in the form of their ‘loyal’ house maid, Rosario. But according to the trailer, it seems as if something sinister will happen to her maid– possibly caused by Leah herself.
Other than this, there will be a presence of a nun– Leah’s school guidance counselor Eloiza, whom the trailer showed a short clip of.
‘Ang Pagsanib kay Leah Dela Cruz’ will hit theaters nationwide on June 28, 2017, a Wednesday with the rating R-18.
