Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz, part of La Luna Sangre The new fantasy series “La Luna Sangre” is the third installment of the franchise “Lobo” and “Imortal.” Angel Locsin starred in both films alongside Piolo Pascual on the first and John Lloyd Cruz on the second. Angel Locsin confirmed the news on Monday as stated in a report by ABS-CBN. She said, “I’m very excited to work again with Lloydy. We have a special participation on La Luna Sangre.” The 31-year-old actress teased fans earlier this month with a photo on Instagram showing her in between the promotional posters of “Lobo” and “Imortal.” Now that it’s official, fans have much to look forward to as Angel joins KathNiel. “La Luna Sangre” hits TV screens in April replacing “Ang Probinsyano” on ABS-CBN. Angel Locsin As Darna In 2005, Angel Locsin played the Philippine superhero character “Darna” in a series on GMA 7. Eventually, ABS-CBN earned the rights to Darna and announced in 2013 that the movie “Darna” is underway. Two years later, Angel Locsin pulled out of the project and posted via Instagram that she would not be able to play the role because of health issues. In the report stated earlier, Locsin said that she can no longer play “Darna” also stating health reasons. On Monday, Star Managing director Malou Santos confirmed that Angel will no longer be in the upcoming “Darna” film. She and director Erik Matti are also concerned about the actress’ health. Angel’s spine was damaged last year when training for her supposed-to-be role as reported by ABS-CBN. Angel Locsin Upcoming movies with James Reid and Coco Martin The actress also confirmed news in the same report that she will be in upcoming movies with James Reid and Coco Martin. She and Coco Martin teamed up for an episode of “Maalalaala Mo Kaya” in 2015 which featured a tribute to the 44 members in the Mamasapano killing. Angel Locsin also revealed that a new TV series is being pitched to her as well. However, the actress did not give any more details.
