Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Mixtape #2 is Actually Sentimental

As Mixtape #2 brings the story’s setting to life, Marvel’s Guardians have all their defenses up as they find out more of the truth behind Peter Quill’s family lineage. In Volume 2, Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Dax), Vin Diesel (Baby Groot), and Bradley Cooper (Rocket) are joined by more humorously interesting and uncanny, let alone famous, characters who are just as trigger-happy as the plot. Get ready for Michael Rooker (Yondu), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sylvester Stallone (Stakar Ogord), Kurt Rusell (Ego), Elizabeth Debicki (Ayesha), Chris Sullivan (Taserface), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Tommy Flanagan (Tullk), and Laura Haddock as Meredith Quill. In the end, foes become allies and who knows what else. So, get watching!

The Zookeper’s Wife: Saving Life Amidst War at Poland’s Warsaw Zoo

Jessica Chastain, Johan Heldenbergh, Michel McElhaton and Daniel Bruhl star in this war biopic about how zookepers Antonina and Jan Zabinski saved hundreds of Jews and animals from the Nazi invasion. The film is based on the non-fiction book of the same title written by Diane Ackerman. The story revolves around Dr. Jan Zabinski (Heldenbergh) and his wife Antonina (Chastain) who save “prize” specimens as well as the lives of Jews when the Warsaw Zoo was bombed by the Germans. In the light of human compassion, the film promises to be a heartfelt one assuring that there is hope in the world.

Coming of Age in 1st Sem

“1st Sem” is an official entry to the 2nd CineFilipino Film Festival. It is a coming-of-age story starring Darwin Yu as a 16-year-old freshman, Maru Marasigan, and Lotlot de Leon, Precy (Maru’s mother). When Maru leaves to go to college in Manila, Precy cannot help but be emotional. This is equally depressing for Maru specially when homesickness strikes. When Maru decides to go back home, begging to study in a college in their hometown, Precy relentlessly refuses. She forces her son to continue his studies in Manila causing a big blow in the mother-and-son relationship.
