Explosion In Ariana Grande Concert In Manchester Kills 19

Ariana Grande’s concert at Manchester Arena on Monday, May 22,  turned out to be one of horror. An explosion killed 19 people and is suspected to be caused by a suicide bomber.

A report by The Guardian says UK police responded to the incident and are treating it as a terrorist incident. The report recorded 19 deaths and 50 more people injured. A video of what was happening inside the arena after the explosion was taken. People can be seen screaming in fear trying to get out of the arena.

According to NBC news, the explosion took place outside the arena right around the time when the Ariana Grande concert ended. The Manchester Arena is the largest indoor arena in Europe and is close to the Manchester Victoria transit station. The audience were estimated to be around 21,000 which included adults and children.

Police responded to an explosion around 10:35 p.m. at the arena according to a report by Reuters. Witnesses say that they felt the explosion and described it as huge. They say it was strong enough to be felt in their chest. People were in a panic and it was very chaotic. NBC posted a video clip on Twitter showing people in panic after they heard the explosion.   It was noted that the explosion came two and a half weeks ahead of an election. The Prime Minister Theresa May is predicted by opinion polls to win a large majority.

Hours after the incident, numerous people have been reported missing. Their photos were posted on Twitter with the hopes of anyone recognizing them and turning them in to be reunited with families or relatives. Celebrities help in spreading the word and even share messages on Twitter about the incident.

The explosion is being treated as a terrorist attack. It was noted that the blast came two and a half weeks ahead of an election. The Prime Minister Theresa May is predicted by opinion polls to win a large majority.

A spokesperson for Ariana Grande said she was okay according to the report. The singer posted on Twitter a message addressed to those who were affected by the tragic incident.
