Awra Briguela, real name McNeal “Mak Mak” Briguela won as the first weekly winner of ABS-CBN’s TV show “Your Face Sounds Familiar.” On its premiere episode on January 7, Awra sang Miley Cyrus’ hit song “Wrecking Ball” impersonating Many Pacquiao’s mom, Mommy D. Awra got a total of 24 stars winning P50,000. Because of Awra’s win, he will be back for this week’s episode, this time impersonating Daniel Padilla.

With ABS-CBN’s “Your Face Sounds Familiar” premiere during the weekend, the show gave good ratings with just two episodes. According to a report by ABS-CBN, a national TV rating of 31.4 % beat its rival program “Magpakailanman” which got 18.8 percent. The new ABS-CBN TV show where Awra impersonated Mommy D didn’t just give the channel good ratings, it gave social media something to talk about.

Ever since Awra’s Mommy D impersonation, Twitterverse could not stop appreciating Awra for his spot on performance on the show. From his costume, make up and voice, Awra definitely slayed on stage. Judges Sharon Cuneta, Gary Valenciano and new kapamilya Ogie Alcasid were very surprised at Awra’s performance. Megastar Sharon Cuneta who recently celebrated her birthday gave her 150 percent for entertainment value. Ogie couldn’t stop saying “wow” while Gary V was lost for words and just said, “OMG.” Even Awra’s idol reacted in a tweet saying, “Uwian na! Nanalo na yung anak ko! UwiiiiiI!.”

Awra Briguela is a thirteen-year-old teen comedian and actor. According to the Inquirer, he was just three years old when he knew his sexual preference. As a kid, he liked playing Hello Kitty and once told his mom Marivic, not to throw away the old skirts and shorts of his sisters. This didn’t bother his dad Oneal Brian or any of his family members since his uncle is also gay. His mother suspects that Awra’s younger brother Brione is also gay.

The report further says Awra now lives in a condominium “sponsored” by “Ang Probinsyano” producer, Dreamscape Entertainment. Awra is part of a special program at Almanzano Uno High School to catch up on school. Awra has been very active in showbiz lately and has earned money for himself. However, Marivic shares that Mak Mak’s earning go straight to his savings which is part of their agreement with ABS-CBN.

In a video interview with Randon Republika, Awra revealed five things that people might not know about him. First, he says he used to walk bare foot going to the plaza to play volleyball. Second, he is not a fan of vegetables but loves strawberries. Third, he never fights with his friends. Fourth, he looks up to three names in showbiz namely, Maja Salvador, Vice Ganda and Sarah Lahbati. Lastly, her dream role is to become a comedian like Vice Ganda when he grows up.

Awra Briguela starred in Vice Ganda’s recent film, “The Super Parental Guardians” with fellow child star Onyok Pineda. The film became a box office hit which made P 68 million on its first day. Awra also appears in the hit TV show, “Ang Probinsyano” as Macario “Mak-Mak” Samonte, Jr. Awra is also the bringer of the “Awra Face” which has gone viral among celebrities.
