For Baguio City, this means loads of events that are part of the Christmas in Baguio 2018, plus lots more. Fresh from the Creative Baguio Festival, creative activities still abound in December, from craft making to music appreciation. Check out our round-up of city events. Christmas In Baguio 2018 Kick-Off Events The Christmas season brings many visitors and tourists to the city. Baguio City holds coordinated events during the season under the “Christmas In Baguio” banner. For this year, the kick-off event for the season will be held on Dec. 1, Saturday. Children and their parents will have a Children and Parents Christmas Mardigras where they will parade along Session Road in their handmade costumes. The morning parade will be capped with the opening program to be graced by local officials. On Dec. 9, Sunday, visitors will be treated to a famed Silent Drill by PMA Cadets at Burnham Park. On the same day, the Baguio City National High School Singing and Dancing Christmas Tree will perform at Malcolm Square or People’s Park, Lower Session Road. Another favorite Christmas destination in Baguio is the Baguio Country Club Christmas Village. This year’s theme is Santa’s Village. Opening hours are Mondays-Thursdays, 2 to 10 pm and Fridays-Sundays, 10 am to 10 pm. See details below. Creativity Abounds This December Several creative workshops will also be happening in December. Gantsilyo Baguio will hold a series of Learn to Crochet a Bonnet workshops on Dec. 1, 8 and 15. For only p120 per crochet kit, you can learn how to make a bonnet. You can also bring your own crochet materials if you have them. The workshop will run from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Check out their event page for details. On Dec. 17, a Film Making Seminar and Cordillera Couture Fashion Show will happen at Hotel Supreme. Organized by the Cordillera Center for Sustainable Solutions, Inc., it will have Director Dexter Macaraeg and photojournalist Luis Liwanag as its resource persons. Finally, world-renowned Philippine classical pianist Cecile Licad will have a one-night concert at the CAP Convention Center in Camp John Hay, on Dec. 6, Thursday.
