Baguio is ready for Christmas after the launch of Christmas in Baguio 2017 on Dec. 1. The Grand Christmas Tree at the Rose Garden in Burnham Park was lighted and SLU’s traditional Lantern Parade lit up Session Road to usher in the holidays.
But December in the city is not just about Christmas. Music and arts still take center stage with concerts and art shows. There are also wellness activities and activities best for families.
PMA 100th Nite Show And Baguio Museum Arts Festival
From Dec. 8 to 10, the Philippine Military Academy’s graduating class will mark the 100-day countdown to graduation day through a special cultural presentation. The third day of the presentation is open to the public. This year, it will be held on Dec. 10, Sunday at 7 p.m. at Yap Hall. For more information, check their events page on Facebook.
On Dec. 8, the Baguio Museum will hold its 3rd Arts Festival with a special exhibit of the works of Tinatik artist Maela Liwanag Jose. The exhibit will showcase Jose’s works in the past 25 years, pioneering a unique form of art that combines the use of colors and batik printing, and is used on textiles. She is also known for her art installation for Christmas in Baguio 2017 located at the Upper Session rotunda.
Contrasts: Analogue Photo Walk And Working In The Digital Space
Film Photography Baguio invites amateur and professional film shooters to an Analogue Photo Walk on Dec. 10, Sunday at the Mansion. The photo walk starts at 7 a.m., where shooters are free to take lots of photos and think of different stories and perspectives of what they see. To register, go to their Eventbrite page.
