The mountain air in Baguio City is starting to get a little bit chillier as November begins. But the events in the Summer Capital are just beginning to warm up. This November, health, wellness and sports is on top of the list of events for everyone in the city.
Yoga Classes, Mindfulness Talk And Day Hikes
In today’s hectic and stress-filled world, it pays to take a pause and try to find your center. This is where yoga can help while at the same time, helps you tone your body too. This month, Pranalaya Yoga and Wellness Baguio offers free Kundalini yoga classes on November 4, 11 and 18, to introduce yoga practice to beginners. On Nov. 25, they will also have a Kids Yoga and Art Workshop. For more information, check their Facebook page.
If you are up for more adventure, check out the two day hikes happening on Nov. 19. Outdoor Buddies Unbounded brings you a major climb to Mt. Pigingan in Itogon, Benguet. A Buddhist group in Baguio will be hosting a talk on mindfulness on Nov. 21 at Cafe Yagam. Called Present Moment, Wonderful Moment, it hopes to introduce how to live mindfully in today’s world. Adivay Festival Sports Events
Benguet province’s Adivay Festival takes place in November, and this year, several sporting events have been lined up for sports enthusiasts. An arnis tournament is scheduled on Nov. 18 at the Capitol Covered Court in La Trinidad, while a bike run will happen on Nov. 19 at the Benguet Sports Center, Wangal, La Trinidad.
The Kasibulan Football Festival is slated from Nov. 24 to 26 at the Benguet State University football field, while the Taekwondo tournament from Nov. 25 to 26 will be hosted at the Capitol Covered Court. An exciting Muay Thai tournament be held on Nov. 25 at the Benguet Sport Center. Finally, boxing is also on the plate on Nov. 26 at the Cordillera Career Development College gym.
