Before the typhoon season sets in, catch these events in June 2019 that give you a taste of the Summer Capital and what it has to offer. Learn To Be An Entrepreneur This June Learn to be a social entrepreneur at the Social Impact Accelerator Roadshow on June 4. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Calle Uno Coworking Space, No. 1 First Road, Baguio City. Facilitated by the Innovation for Social Impact Partnership (ISIP), a project by Australian Aid, UNDP, and PhilDev, it aims to help participants gain insights on how to grow their social enterprise. The Philippine Franchise Association and the Department of Trade and Industry-Cordillera Administrative Region (DTI-CAR) want to educate aspiring entrepreneurs about franchising. On June 13, they will hold two sessions on franchising: How to Invest in the Right Franchise and How to Franchise your Business. The seminars will be held at the Baguio Country Club, and pre-registration is required. Last Chance To Hike Before The Rains Come Several hike tours are still available for the month of June and most of them bring you to Mt. Ulap. These include the Mt. Ulap Eco Trail Day Hike on June 8, organized by Al Tiera Travel and Tours. Another one worth checking is the Mt. Ulap Eco Trail Hike and Outreach Adventure, from June 8 to 9. This will not only give you that natural high of conquering Mt. Ulap, but also another kind of high for helping out kids in Ampucao Elementary School. On June 12, another day hike is available for those interested in Mt. Ulap as well as the famed Cafe in the Sky in Sto. Tomas. Indie Music And Film Takes Center Stage Indie TV, Sibol Collective, and Saranggola Productions present Indie Music Fest Baguio at the Generation Y Cafe along Leonard Wood Road. Happening on June 15, Saturday, from 6 to 10 p.m., it will bring together alternative and independent music acts and musicians for a night of music. World Music Day this year falls on a Friday, June 21. This day has always been celebrated in the Philippines through the staging of Fete de la Musique events all over the country. In Baguio, Fete de la Musique will be staged on June 29, Saturday at Malcolm Square, Lower Session Road. Performances start at 4 p.m., and you can visit their Facebook page for updates on the lineup of musicians. Cinema KALYE hopes to bring aspiring storytellers and filmmakers together in a community event on June 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bookends Bookshop along T. Claudio Street.
