Only a few days left and we say goodbye to 2017. In Baguio City and nearby places, several events will help us usher in the New Year including some gustatory delights, two chances to leave the city and a major sporting event.

New Year Buffets For Visitors And Locals To Enjoy

Two Baguio City hotels will host a New Year dinner buffet for the family on Dec. 31. Azalea Residences will host a dinner buffet, “Dashing Through The Decades” with live music from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Azalea Tent. With food prepared and served by its in-house Tradisyon Coffee shop, this will truly be another memorable experience for the family. Details on how to reserve can be found on their events page. Azalea Residences is located at Leonard Wood Loop Road, Baguio City.

Ridgewood Hotel, on J. Felipe Street, continues its Christmas Straight From The Heart buffet with a special New Year’s Eve Dinner Buffet also on Dec. 31. From 6 to 9 p.m., guests can enjoy a wide range of food selections along with some live music.

How About A Trek, Or Two?

If adventure is on your mind, or you simply want to get out of the city, there are two lined up before the end of the year. From Dec. 27 to 29, a 3-day tour of Bontoc, Banaue, Batad, with a side trip to Baguio will bring adventurers to experience the rice terraces of Maligcong, Banaue and Batad.

Another trek runs for 2 days, taking adventurers to Sagada’s famous sites such as Marlboro Hill, Cave Connecticut and the Big Falls. Both treks will surely bring you out of your comfort zone and challenge you, which is a good way to cap your year.

Baguio City Hosts 2nd AquaThlon

On Dec. 30, the 2nd AquaThlon will be held at the Baguio Athletic Bowl and Swimming Pool. The race starts off with the swim leg at the Baguio Athletic Pool. The run leg follows after: kids who are joining the race will be doing their run leg inside the Athletic Bowl, while adults will take Kisad Road, Military Cut-off, Loakan and back.
