Art is on the agenda this month, as well as learning something new, be it useful skills or knowledge. Here is our round up of this month’s events. Pasa-Kalye And Tam-Awan Bring You More Art Tam-Awan Village, the known artists’ village in Pinsao Proper, celebrates its 2oth year with a multi-venue art exhibit this May. Different Tam-Awan artists will showcase their works of art in three venues. The first venue will be at the village itself, to open on May 4 at 12 noon. It will run from May 4 to June 1. SM City Baguio will also host one exhibit, running from May 4 to 27, at the lower basement area of the mall. Tam-Awan also brings their celebration to Manila through another exhibit at the ArtistSpace at the Ayala Museum from May 2 to 14. Another group of Baguio artists, Pasa-Kalye, give young artists their chance to shine through their very own art exhibit called “The New Breed.” Members of Pasa-Kalye teens who are mostly students will display their works at the Albergo Hotel from May 4 to 31. On May 19 and 20, Pasa-Kalye will also hold arts and crafts workshops at the group’s hub at Bookends Baguio. Kids and adults are welcome to join the line up of activities which include basic drawing, painting, sculpture, tie-dying, origami, bookmark making among others. Sign up by messaging their Facebook page. Learn Something New At Workshops And More On May 5, learn about Japan and Japanese culture at the Japan Edu-Cultural Fair. The day-long event will be held at the PFVR Gym, Military Cut-off Road, Baguio City. May 8 also brings another learning opportunity to the city. Kris Bacani, a professional make-up artist, brings his Bridal Make Up Workshop for Pros at Lemon and Olives on Outlook Drive. The workshop fee is PhP 6,000. The first-ever meet up in the city will be held on May 16, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Craftery Co-Working Space. To register, go to the event’s Facebook page. On May 19, Sessions Hub Cafe on Session Road hosts another batch of Air Dry Clay Workshop. For only PhP 1,500, participants will learn how to make items like keychains and such.
