Baguio Food Crawl 2019 Day 2: Comfort Food At The Terminal, Healthy Eats At Cafe de Angelo, New Faves At Hub A Byte
Baguio Food Crawl 2019 Day 2, 1st Stop: The Terminal and Inihaws
This new restaurant is aptly named as it is located along Governor Pack Road, where the provincial bus terminals can be found. Owned by the same restauranteur that operates The Camp, Recess and Drop Out, it offers comfort food that will keep your tummy full and your taste buds satisfied. One of the best things about this place is that it is open 24/7, thereby offering a welcome respite for those waiting for their trip schedules.
Among the dishes we sampled were Sizzling Seafood, Beer Battered Fish, Fish Fillet Sandwich and Chocolate Mousse. For a satisfying meal, you can opt for their Sizzling Seafood, which is a delectable dish with shrimp, squid and fish fillet, perfectly paired with rice. Their Beer Battered Fish reminds you of a meal version of Fish and Chips except this one is served with creamy mashed potatoes and a yummy garlic dip. Don’t miss out on the Terminal’s brewed coffee which comes with a refill. It will definitely keep you warm as you wait for that bus ride.
Next stop– Inihaws
Right after The Terminal, we went just below it and visited Inihaws. Once you enter, you are welcomed by the smell of grilled food which makes you want to dig in right away. They served Inihaw na Manok and Inihaw na Bangus which were really grilled just the right way. Not overcooked, not undercooked.
Baguio Food Crawl 2019 Day 2, 2nd Stop: Cafe de Angelo
Even after getting acquainted with new restaurants in the City, it is always good to go back to the comfort of home. In this case, home is Cafe de Angelo. #ThatTinyCoffeeShop has been in Baguio for about six years now and since they opened, a lot of people who have been here always made their way back to chill, relax, and simply destress with really good coffee and great food by Chef Ro. The food she serves is always healthy, fresh and organically grown.
If you love bread so much, you will surely love the Bulalo Sandwich (Php220) and Breakfast Burger. If it’s pasta you want, the Sardines Pasta is exquisite (Php219). Of course, if you like something with rice, go for the Rosemary Chicken (Php180). To complete your leisurely breakfast, lunch, or dinner, try their beverages. Start with their house classic, Angelo’s blend, brewed using the siphon brewing method. Every sip will be subtle and smooth. Once you’ve experienced that cup of coffee, you will surely keep coming back for more. (By the way, the price range for their coffee menu is from Php50 to Php135. You can also get everything on their coffee menu iced.) For hot days or morning brunch, try the sweet Strawberry Cooler (Php100) or the refreshing Basil Cooler (Php90).
Everything here at Cafe de Angelo will surely be a delight. So, if you are looking for a place to enjoy that easy-like-Sunday-morning vibe anytime you need to, visit them at 54 Chapis Village Marcos Highway, Baguio City. (Cafe de Angelo Review – Kaye Leah Sitchon)
Baguio Food Crawl 2019 Day 2, 3rd Stop: Hub A Byte
Another new restaurant, Hub A Byte replaced Sessions Gallery Cafe, located at the 4th Floor, Jose De Leon Building along Session Road. It’s the same building as Mercury Drug on Upper Session. This cozy cafe also doubles as a co-working space for those who want to get some work done while enjoying the cafe ambiance.
Aside from the usual coffee offerings, they also have amazing dishes for whatever appetite you may have. For light snacks, we sampled their cheesy and muy delicioso Chicken Quesadillas, and their version of sliders, Burger Bytes.
Their heavier meal options include Flounder Florentine and Chicken Parmigiana, both served with rice. The cafe is also built with entertainment in mind as it has an inviting lounge with a comfy sofa and an LED TV, something kids and young people will probably gravitate to when they come here.
