Baguio Food Crawl is an annual event of serious foodies that features the hippest restaurants in Baguio City. To celebrate its third year, Baguio Food Crawl once again brings together influencers on a two-day food excursion around the city from April 25-26 to let you in on what’s new in the Baguio food scene. Officially tagged as “Baguio Food Crawl 2019” this time around, everyone who has a thing for food will get to know a lot more about this year’s featured pit stops. That list includes The Blind Filter and Kitchen, Lihim Ni Maria, The Fat Belly Project, The Terminal, Cafe De Angelo, and Hub-a-Byte. Baguio Food Crawl 2019 is sponsored by The Other Bloggers, 3BU Hostel, and PayMaya.
Baguio Food Crawl 2019 Day 1: From Third Wave Coffee, Artisanal Kesong Puti Ice Cream and Ube Champorado, to Unlimited Steak and Ribs
Baguio Food Crawl 2019 Day 1, 1st Stop: The Blind Filter and Kitchen.
If you take your coffee seriously, this is definitely the place to get caffeinated. Otherwise known as BFK, this cafe puts together the best of two things: healthy grub and creative coffee.
For brunch, The Other Bloggers and the Pilipinas Popcorn gang enjoyed everything BFK served that mid-morning. Sir Kenneth started off with some freshly brewed coffee from choice coffee beans of Ampucao and Atok, Benguet. He then took the coffee experience a notch higher by letting us experience BFK’s creative third wave coffee blends with millennial drinks called “What the Fog” (milk tea), Chocolate Assam, BFK Oh Ship! (coffee and tea), and Earl Grey.
BFK What the Fog costs Php70 for Tall Hot, Php 80 Iced Tall, or Php90 Grande. Chocolate Assam costs Php110 (Tall) and Php120 (Grande). BFK Oh Ship! Tall Hot costs Php100 and Php115 for Tall Iced. Earl Grey Tall costs Php110 and Php120 for Grande.
What came next was some seriously healthy and hearty food. We tried their Mug Rice, specifically Bibim-Mug (Php110) and Bulalove Flakes (Php95)– both exquisite as day-starters. Their scrumptious Tinapa Pasta (Php 85)and Bacon Burger (Php135) was a delight to try, too! So much for having a light breakfast! Everything about BFK makes anyone ready to face the day’s itinerary and to-do list whether as a student or an 8-to-5-er. Be sure to visit them at 2nd Floor, FB Building, Gumamela st. Ciudad Grande Phase-1 Bakakeng, Baguio City.
Baguio Food Crawl 2019 Day 1, 2nd Stop: Lihim ni Maria.
The creations of “The Artisan Chef,” Chef Dyna, should be no secret at all. Everything served is made from scratch and the ingredients they use are all-natural. They make sure to highlight the fresh and best quality produce of the Cordilleras, which is why food goes beyond being delicious.
That Thursday afternoon was their soft opening and they introduced new dishes. We had a mix of things but if taken individually, our taste buds were taken on a gastronomic holiday with Chef Dynah’s innovative dishes. Her dessert menu included Putobungbong Cheesecake (Php69), Ube Champorado, Kesong Puti Sandwich (an ice cream sandwich made with her very own handmade Kesong Puti ice cream), Avocado Cheesecake Tapioca, and Mango Cheesecake Tapioca.
As main dishes, she served us their Chicken Parmigiana (Php120), Walnut Pesto with Tinapa (Php149), Maria’s Chicken (which she would rather call “Chicks ni Mario”-Php110), and Sinigang Glaze Ribs. And of course, the beverages they served were perfect to end the busy day: Ube Latte (Php95) and Green Life — a super healthy drink that makes you feel instantly fit and fab! Lihim ni Maria’s dishes are truly unique, inspired by a creative culinary mind. It’s no wonder why Chef Dyna’s creations are featured by TV personalities and programs like Vicky Morales, “Byahe ni Drew,” and TV Patrol. So to experience these unique dishes, make a stop at Samson Building, Upper Session Road, corner Engineer’s Hill,Baguio City.
