Local bookstore Bookends Baguio and a group of Baguio artists brings to the public a special edition of Pasakalye Art Festival for the Panagbenga 2017. Titled “Pasa-Kalye Art X-Fusion: Panagbenga Rev-Bloom Art Convergence,” it kicks off on Feb. 25, at 2:00 p.m. at Bookends Baguio on T. Claudio Street.

Pasa-Kalye Feb. 25 and 26 Launch Activities

The week-long program will be launched after the Panagbenga Street Dancing parade on Feb. 25. That afternoon, the launching program starts at 2:00 p.m. to be followed by a painting workshop for children. While this is ongoing, guests and visitors can join in the street painting. Local artists will be on hand to sketch portraits and do some henna tattoos or face paintings. Visitors can also mingle with the artists from 5:00 p.m. onwards.

On Feb. 26, after the Panagbenga Float Parade, the painting workshop for kids will continue, as well as the portrait sketching, henna tattoos and face painting.

Pasa-Kalye Week-long Exhibit

Feb. 26 will also be the start of the week-long art exhibit by Baguio artists. This coincides with the “Session in Bloom” activity of Panagbenga. Visitors can see selected artworks on display during the exhibit.

From Feb. 27 to March 5, the artists will conduct different workshops for the public. Here is the line-up of art workshops: Feb. 27 –  Workshop on Sketching; Feb. 28 – Workshop on Watercolor Painting; March 1 – Workshop on Sculpture using Epoxy; March 2 – Workshop on Resin Art; March 3 – Workshop on Acrylic Painting; and March 4 – Basic Photography Workshop.

Guests can also join the musical jamming and cultural dances on March 3 and 4. On March 3, an Open Forum on the Rev-Bloom Campaign will be conducted at 2:00 p.m.
