That wasn’t the case for Baguio City’s temperature. On Feb. 15, the coldest and lowest temperature was recorded hitting 7.3 degrees Celsius as of 6:00 a.m. which dropped from 7.4 degrees Celsius at 5:00 a.m. Baguio City Temperature Breaks 9.2 degrees Celsius Record For February Baguio City is living up to its reputation as the City of Pines having one of the coolest weathers in the country. February is known to be the coldest month of the year which is right before the summer season in March. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) previously recorded the lowest temperature this month at 9.2 degrees Celsius. Just when Baguio citizens thought it couldn’t get colder, the temperature dropped to 8 degrees Celsius on Valentine’s Day and dropped to a cold 7.3 degrees Celsius the next day. Mt. Sto. Tomas a.k.a ‘La Presa’ Hits 6 degrees Celsius, Colder than Baguio City Meanwhile, in Mt Sto Tomas, near the “La Presa” taping location for the defunct ABS-CBN teleserye “Forevermore,” Mercury plunged to as low as 6 degrees. Temperature in this close neighbor of Baguio City is always 1 to 2 degrees colder. Rene Paciente, senior weather forecaster of PAGASA, says the strong northeast monsoon or cold monsoon from China and Siberia is causing temperatures to drop and normally peaks in the months of January and February.
