Share on Facebook Share on Twitter It’s that time of the year again where flowers bloom bigger, the wind blows warmer, and the streets more crowded. Regardless of the traffic and searing sun, it’s a much-anticipated festivity that showcases the best of Baguio City. This year’s theme for the 22nd Panagbenga Flower Festival is “Inspired by beauty, nurtured by nature.” Even before the sun rays peeked into the tall trees and mountainous district of Baguio City, participants of the Grand Street Parade have already donned on their colorful costumes and flurry headdresses. They’re not alone- because eager spectators of all ages and different places have also set up their spots for witnessing the performances. Fioly, a 66-year old resident, says that for all the years she has watched, she’s still looking forward to what’s new that could be happening. “I love watching most especially if I’m with my family.” she says. 22nd Panagbenga Grand Street Dance Parade Street performers start their dancing in the Panagbenga Park where lines of people are anticipating the show. They will dance their way through Session road where an even bigger crowd is waiting for them. Overpasses are jampacked with people, cars are bustling in the sidelines and trees are even climbed by photographers. Must be quite a show indeed! In the Athletic Bowl, their grand dance is performed. Audiences from different places such as Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, France and Korea also attended the Pangbenga Street Dance event. Each performing group exhibited their native dances and display their ethnicity. Meanwhile imparting values on nature and implant the theme on the viewers.
