YG Responds To T.O.P’s Alleged Violation Of Military Service Law

YG Entertainment has responded to reports stating that the Seoul Regional Military Manpower Administration has put T.O.P under investigation. Earlier today, Allkpop reported that the release of Big Bang’s newest single “Flower Road” might have been a violation of T.O.P’s military contract.

YG Jumps To T.O.P’s Defense

The military law prohibits T.O.P to have any additional activities after his enlistment. The Yongsan District where T.O.P is currently serving as a public service worker is looking into the matter.

G-Dragon and T.O.P wrote “Flower Road” in 2015. Big Bang finished recording it in the same year. However, it was released this 2018 when T.O.P’s military service is in the middle of its course. According to Allkpop, T.O.P defended himself by saying that they finished the song before he enlisted and he did not know it would be released. However, the Yongsan District Office has requested for T.O.P to present his talent contract. They are hoping to track his activities through his contract period and his direct relation to the song production.

YG responded a few hours later as reported by Soompi. A source from the agency said, “Fans already know that ‘Flower Road’ was recorded two years ago while working on the ‘MADE’ album. This is something that was made known the general public through media reports. We don’t understand why this is being made into an issue.”

Recently, Big Bang and YG celebrated the “all-kill” status of “Flower Road.” However, celebrations might have to cease as the Military Manpower Administration is still in the process of reviewing T.O.P’s papers. Their verdict is expected to come in a week’s time.
