Well, apparently after winning the prestigious pageant and completing their reign, these queens have been pursuing the cause of their advocacies and their passion in life. Let’s take a look at the Binibining Pilipinas Queens in the past 5 years and what they are up to now. Mary Jean Lastimosa, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Maxine Medina, Rachel Peters, and Catriona Gray.

Binibining Pilipinas Queens 2014-2018

1. Binibining Pilipinas 2014 Mary Jean Lastimosa

Mary Jean, or MJ for short, is from North Cotabato province. Before taking home the crown of Miss Universe in Binibining Pilipinas 2014, this lady first conquered pageants in her hometown. MJ placed Top 10 in the prestigious Miss Universe 2014.

Now, MJ Lastimosa enjoys traveling the world, exploring the culture and walking into the international runway as a fashion model.

2. Binibining Pilipinas 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach

Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is the 3rd Filipina who won the title after 42 years.  was possibly the biggest name in the year 2015 to 2016 because of the controversial coronation of Miss Universe 2015. If you could remember, host Steve Harvey announced the wrong name before Pia was finally declared as the winner. No one will ever forget that. 

After winning Miss Universe 2015, Pia then proceded to pursue her advocacy on Youth HIV and AIDS awareness which she continues to do up to now. Today, Pia Wurtzbach is a successful product endorser, actress, and model known not just in the Philippines but also internationally.

3. Binibining Pilipinas 2016 Maxine Medina

Maxine Medina faced a lot of backlash in social media even after winning the Binibining Pilipinas Miss Universe Crown in 2016. But this tough Filipina Beauty Queen proved herself as she fought her way to Miss Universe 2016. She landed in the Top 6 which was not that bad. Maxine then pursues her advocacy similar to that of Pia Wurtzbach, create awareness on HIV/AIDS.

Maxine is now pursuing her modeling career and exploring the world of show business.

4. Binibining Pilipinas 2017 Rachel Peters

Unlike the other beauty queens, Rachel Louise Peters took home the crown in her first try and represented the Philippines in Miss Universe 2017. Rachel finished off the competition as part of the Top 10.

This Filipina-British beauty queen is a solid advocate of unity in diversity which she still strongly stands for up to today. Rachel enjoys her life and now has a successful bakeshop called “Bake” in Siargao plus she is also a product endorser for several brands.

5.  Binibining Pilipinas 2018 Catriona Gray

On June 9, 2019, Catriona Gray passed her crown to the new Binibining Pilipinas 2019. Catriona Gray won the pageant last year and later on competed for Miss Universe 2018 and snatched the crown.

Winning the pageant, Catriona now has a bigger platform for her advocacy which is to give education for the underprivileged youth. She has been vocal about her advocacy since the first day of Binibining Pilipinas which she brought with her on the Miss Universe stage. She also pursues advocacy for people with HIV/AIDS.

Now Catriona continues her reign as a Miss Universe 2019 until she passes on the crown to her successor.
