The carriage of the Black Nazarene left Quirino Grandstand and headed to the Quiapo Church. Every year, thousands of Catholic devotees join the procession hoping to at least touch the life-sized image of the Black Nazarene and be cured of any disease. Traslacion 2017, Millions of Attendees According to Philippine Star, the Black Nazarene was returned to the Quiapo Church around 3:45 a.m. on Tuesday. The procession known as “traslaction” took 22 hours since it started around 5:20 a.m. The route covered 25 streets and according to the report, there were around 2.5 miliion people who were present during the procession. This update came from the National Capital Region Police Office. Report further says that attendees of activities that were connected to the religious event were around 18 million. In a report made by CNN Philippines, as of 12:30 p.m. yesterday, the Philippine National Red Cross reported 899 patients that were treated, 576 of them was because of high blood pressure, 310 minor injuries, one major injury, four rushed to the hospital for abdominal pain, hypertension, avulsion and fracture, while eight were brought to the Welfare Desk. Angeline Quinto Among Millions Of Devotees In Angeline Quinto’s Instagram, she posted and captioned a video on Instagram saying “Maraming Salamat Po Mahal na Poong Nazareno. Thank You Makati Chapter.” Angeline’s experience with her mother and the Black Nazarene made a devotee out of her. In an interview with Boy Abunda on ABS-CBN, she shares how her mother was cured of a heart disease. Angeline said she prays to the Black Nazarene everyday after she goes to the heart center where her mother was being treated. She said, “Awa naman po ng Diyos, talagang naniniwala na po ako na talagang may himala nga po si Poong Nazareno kasi nagkaroon po ng pangalawang buhay si mama ko.” She also said tells Boy Abunda that the Black Nazarene was her guide in wining the Star Power. She said she always asks her rosaries to be blessed by the priest and as custom requires, one must hold the rosary up and the rosary and holy water accidentally hit her lips.
