GBG Stories Search is done annually. It zeroes in on inspiring business proprietors who use technology, specifically Google products, to grow their businesses that in turn affect the lives and the community surrounding their enterprise. These success stories are submitted to GBG as an entry to one of the three categories. First is SMB that stands for small to medium-sized businesses including NGOs. The second category is Social Impact for social enterprises. The third is Technology for Technology startups and ventures.

Each entry goes through a process of evaluation and judging. The criteria for judging includes Inspirational Quality (60 percent), Impact (20 percent), and Innovative Use of Google Products (20 percent).  The judging panel will be made up of Google employees.
