Engagement rings are meant to represent the future marriage of two hearts. It’s like a lock that means you’re stuck with the same person for life. So if you’re going to give one, better choose the right one. And for the following celebrities who just got one for themselves, they are very lucky. Not because of their fabulous, expensive-looking rings, but because of the men who kneeled before them holding it.

Without further ado, here are the women who are ready to say: ‘I do!’

Filipina Celebrities Who Got Engaged this 2017

1. Maxene Magalona and Robby Mananquil. There’s nothing like a neon-lit cave under the cold Japan frost on a February 14 that could make this proposal more romantic. In their sweet little vacation in Japan, musician Robby knelt on one knee to ask actress Maxene to be his future wife. It was way back in 2015 when the two revealed they were dating. Maxene posted the moment on her Instagram account but kept the ring for herself.

2. Erika Padilla and Jeffrey Cariaso. For this couple, 2017 was a fast-track to their happy and adorable family. On April, former Barangay Ginebra San Miguel coach proposed to actress and TV host, Erika. The month after, Erika became pregnant with their first child. And then in June, the couple had a simple civil wedding at San Francisco.

3. Valerie Weigmann and Bodie Pulido. Miss World Philippines 2014 also got engaged this year. And her partner for seven years is attorney Bodie Pulido. The duo was on a romantic trip to Machu Picchu in May, when Valerie Weigmann got an unexpected question thrown her way as they strolled the ruins of the tourist site.

4. Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez. Here’s another couple who were out of the country when they asked and got asked to spend their lives together. On a trip to the actress’ birthplace, Switzerland, the two spent their good time skiing on Swiss snow mounds. And after spending five years together with their 4-year-old son Zion, Richard finally asked the mother of his child to be his wife.

5. Iza Calzado and Ben Wintle. Iza Calzado says that she met British entrepreneur Ben Wintle at a magazine event in 2011. And on that same year, it was him who comforted her on one of her saddest days– the passing away of her father. While the two had little history together, this moment was the time that they found themselves feeling the right kind of feelings and it was since then that the two started officially dating. This 2017 is their fifth year, and Ben finally proposed to Iza– thankfully documented by Rajo Laurel when he posted on his Instagram account the big moment. The couple is now expecting marriage somewhere in April 2018 according to ABS-CBN.

The year isn’t over yet, so for all those men– and even women– who are planning on asking their partners to spend their lives together, it’s never too late!
