City of Dreams Manila, Nobu Hotel

The organizers of the Blogapalooza ConnecteD event could not have chosen a better venue for the bloggers’ get together in the Philippines. City of Dreams Manila is an integrated resort and casino that is also home to three luxurious hotels. Participants of the event were lucky enough to stay at the Nobu Hotel, a boutique hotel owned by renowned actor Robert De Niro, Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and film producer Meir Teper.

On Saturday, October 27, bloggers from all over the Philippines gathered for the biggest event of the year: the Blogapalooza ConnecteD. Spearheaded by Ace Gapuz, this annual event is something that social media influencers look forward to every year. One is because of the speakers invited and the relevant topics discussed, two is because you get to connect with bloggers from all over the Philippines, and three is because of the experience staying at one of the most luxurious places in the Philippines.

Now, you may be wondering why the City of Dreams Manila is really called the City of Dreams. The Pilipinas Popcorn Team was part of this event and there are reasons why we think it’s one of the places that you should visit someday soon.

3 Reasons why City of Dreams Manila is called the City of Dreams

1. Entertainment and luxury shopping rolled into one

City of Dreams has everything you want for a staycation. You’ve got entertainment, comfort at its finest, and you get to experience the luxury you deserve.  For entertainment, you have the first DreamWorks inspired DreamPlay that caters to the whole family. Rest assured kids will always have something to do.

For adults, there’s a world-class Casino to keep you entertained if you have spare time in your hands. You can choose to either be at the VIP Club or the Signature Club. There also is a non-stop entertainment bar called Centerplay which is at the heart of the Casino. Golfers will be pleased to know that the City of Dreams has an indoor Golf that uses the latest in Digital Simulation called the K-Golf.

Shopping will also be something you can do while you are in the City of Dreams. Not just shopping but luxurious shopping. Get ready to shop ’till you drop at high-class stores with brands like Hugo Boss, Hermes, Rolex, Florsheim, Beyond the Box, Miladay, Porsche Design, Rimowa, and Art of Scent. Everywhere you go you only find the finest most luxurious facilities you would want.

2. Home of 5-Star Hotels like the Nobu Hotel, home of super fast WiFi service

Another reason why you stay in the City of Dreams aside from the entertainment is because of the comfort you get from three of the hotels in the area. We’re talking about luxury 5-star hotels that can be pretty expensive. But for the one-of-a-kind service you get that comes with deluxe comfort, you can’t complain.

There’s the Nuwa Hotel, Nobu Hotel Manila, and the Hyatt Hotel. Whichever you choose, you are guaranteed world-class service. The Pilipinas Popcorn team together with other bloggers stayed at the Nobu Hotel Manila. It’s the first of its kind boutique Nobu Hotel in Asia and is home for vibrant Asian and international destination leisure and entertainment seekers.

Let’s talk about Nobu Hotel Manila. Checking in wasn’t a hassle at all. This is very comforting since customer service is first when it comes to staying at a place that you will call home for the next few days. It only took a couple of minutes and the front desk clerks were all smiles and were very helpful. Walking around the corridors made me notice how everything was well-designed, well thought of and well lit.

Now, let’s talk about their rooms. Every unit at the Nobu Hotel are nothing short of elegant. There’s something about the smell and you know for sure it doesn’t just look clean. It is clean. Just looking at the sheets, you could tell that you are about to be embraced by a cloud of blankets and will be able to rest your head on the softest pillows. That alone makes every penny more than worth it. The bathrooms are well designed making it more than convenient. It makes you think you are in your personal haven of comfort. One thing we really loved, the view outside the window. Check out that sunrise.

One notable thing about Nobu Hotel Manila, though, is they have super fast WiFi service! If you work online, you don’t have to worry at all about getting work done. You are guaranteed WiFi service that will satisfy the tech-savvy and the digital nomad. This is not an exaggeration at all.

3. A wide variety of food: Nobu Hotel Manila breakfast and The Garage

Now that you have entertainment and comfort, let’s move on to food. There’s a wide variety of food that you can find at the City of Dreams Manila. There’s fine dining, contemporary dining, casual dining and a different kind of dining experience at The Garage.

First, let’s take a look at the food that we had at the Nobu Restaurant. Before anything else, you should know that Nobu Restaurant is a world-renowned Japanese Restaurant. It caters to a hip crowd and has a big celebrity following. It offers modern Japanese dishes fused with Peruvian influences.

We had the opportunity to try their buffet breakfast.  All in all, food is what you’d expect at a world-class restaurant. Excellent service and really, I mean really good food. A must-try is one that has been the favorite of many bloggers during our stay: the french toast.

For the whole meal, you get rice, pancakes, well-cooked eggs according to how you want them, bacon, sausages, desserts, bread, cereal, yogurts, coffee, and fresh fruits.

For fine dining, you have The Tasting Room, Nobu Restaurant, Hide Yamamoto, Ruby Jack’s Steakhouse and Bar, Crystal Dragon, and Breezes. There’s Red Ginger, The Lounge, Apu, Erwin’s Gastrobar, O Kitchen, Prego and Wave for contemporary dining. And there’s the Cafe Society, Nobu Lounge, Jing Ting, Noodl8, Centerplay, The Cafe, and Starbucks for the casual diners.

But for those who want a different experience in dining, try The Garage. This is the food park in the City of Dreams where you get to eat American, Mexican, Japanese, and Italian food in a garage inspired design. There are a couple of food trucks that make you feel like you are enjoying food on the streets. This you should visit when you find yourself in the City of Dreams.
