Pantone says that the “blue-based purple” takes individuals to a certain level of awareness and potential to a higher level of technology, artistic expression, spiritual reflection, even as far as exploring galaxies beyond. The purple tone represents intrigue and mystery of the things that are still to be known. It is what creativity stands for.

Apparently, Ultra Violet is most unique that pretty much reflects individuality. It is also a color that is perceived as a way to spur creative minds on their craftsmanship and expertise.
Throughout history the color purple has been associated with royalty, nobility, and prestige. It is associated with meditation spaces for those who seek refuge from an over-stimulated world. It is the same color that can represent connecting with other communities in gathering spaces.
Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, says that the Pantone Color of the Year “has come to mean so much more than ‘what’s trending’ in the world of design.” This color is a reflection of what’s needed in our world today.
