Following the success of its standalone title, Cuphead, StudioMDHR, indie developer, and game creator, was ecstatic to announce its latest downloadable content (DLC) cleverly titled as “The Delicious Last Course” set to release in 2019.
Cuphead took the world by storm in 2017 with critics and gamers alike lauding its old-school cartoon rendition and its challenging gameplay. The cherry on top was its couch co-op option, where two players can play locally.
Cuphead, Is It Worth the Wait?
The game made its first appearance in 2014 at Xbox’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. It has been attracting waves of players eager to get gaming up until its debut.
That’s three grueling years of waiting, and it has still sold a million copies worldwide just in the first two weeks of being in the shelves. What’s a quarter or half-year more?
Finger-Smashing Good
With the up and coming release of the new DLC, the titular character, Cuphead, along with his brother, Mugman, are faced to conquer yet another set of artisanal adversaries in what seems to look like a feast of an isle.
We’re talking food fiends, sizzling stages and heaps of hours spent on beating big and beefy bosses—perhaps a mouthful of arguments between Player 1 and Player 2, too (as true Cupheads do).
Of course, with these new additions comes a whole new arsenal of weapons and a new playable character, Miss Chalice. The new character is all hand-drawn and animated in the game’s visual charm and splendor we’ve all grown to love.
The Last Bite
With spoilers far and few between, we aren’t quite sure if the expansion is set to be Cuphead’s final frontier. Are we nearing our dessert or are we yet to get a taste of what’s to come? Despite the title being foreboding, The Delicious Last Course is already looking appetizing.
