It has been five days since the Star Magic All Star Game where Daniel had an altercation with The Better Half actor JC de Vera. Daniel was blocking JC from passing the ball to his teammate when JC pushed Daniel accidentally throwing him on the floor. Read the full story here. Both actors, who were competitive in nature, apologized to each other and shrugged off the issue right after the game. It has been around two days, however, since Paul’s comment about Daniel went viral. This caused a heated Twitter exchange between Daniel and Paul and their respective fandoms as well, Kathniel and Paulbie. The issue was on Twitter top trends since and finally, Daniel talks about what he really feels about the issue.

Daniel Padilla on Paul Salas comment, ‘I don’t tolerate those things’

Daniel was at the grand opening of District 8 Gastropub, in which he is part owner, on Thursday, Aug 17. It was then when PEP did an interview with the actor. The event was attended by 7 other part owners including Vica Ganda, James Yap, Marc Pingris, Paul Artadi, Francis Zamora, Charlton Yu and chef Kel Zaguirre. District 8 Gastropub is located at Greenhills, San Juan City.

Talking about his Twitter exchange with Paul, Daniel tells PEP he didn’t tolerate such comments most especially coming from a younger actor. Daniel is 22 while Paul, 19. When it comes to the industry, Daniel makes sure he gives respect where respect is due most especially to older actors.

He mentioned he and Paul worked together once before in 2013 and he didn’t expect this kind of comment most of all from Paul. PEP asked if he was angry at his fellow Star Magic actor and he said he wasn’t. Instead, he just felt disrespected and offended. When asked if he would indeed do the 5 on 5 match if Paul would agree. Daniel said, “Huwag na, hindi, practice muna sila. Huwag na. (No, they need more practice. Nevermind.)”

He added why he posted the challenge on Twitter, “Paul Salas Ano. Sagot?” to answer Paul’s comment. He said it was just a result of so much that has happened during that time and Paul just added to the stress of it all. He didn’t mean to let bashers pick on Paul on Twitter and called on fans to stop the bashing. Daniel merely had to let Paul know that he knew what he did and send the message that he isn’t someone to mess with and things like that won’t be tolerated.

Finally, Daniel said, “Next, move on tayo. (Now, let’s move on.)”

Daniel Padilla speaking up about his issue with Paul Salas might just put an end to the Twitter war fans were or are so into. The basketball match fans are waiting for might not push through, after all. Or will it?
