Former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday. The Puerto Rican beauty won Miss Universe in 1993 and is confirmed to sit as judge in the preliminary competition and grand coronation night on January 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Dayanara Torres Arrives In the Philippines, Back In Showbiz

Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres arrived at NAIA Terminal 1 on Tuesday at around 7:30 p.m. The former beauty queen posted a video on Instagram of her walking at the airport greeting fans saying, “Mabuhay.” She captioned the post, “Finally here! Philippines Mi 2ndo Hogar (Philppines my 2nd home) Na Miss ko Kayo (I missed you),” hinting she hasn’t forgotten the Filipino language.

A few days before Dayanara arrived, she expressed her excitement by posting throwback photos on Instagram. Torres remembered the times she spent in Philippine showbiz after winning the pageant in 1993 and  crowning her successor Charlene Gonzales in 1994. Torres became a host of ABS-CBN’s “ASAP” with Gary V, Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez, Ariel Rivera. She also starred in movies with Aga Muhlach and Cesar Montano.

Dayanara was rumored to be back in Philippine showbiz. The beauty queen confirmed reports about this as she posted on Instagram saying, “Glad to be back with Manila Genesis again! Couldn’t feel more at home! Love you guys. Here’s to New beginnings.” Manila Genesis is a talent agency run by Gary V’s wife, Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano.

Torres was married to Latin star Marc Anthony but were divorced in 2004. Dayanara now resides in Los Angeles with her two sons.

Dayanara Torres Sits As Judge On Miss Universe 2016

News came out in December that Dayanara would be back in the Philippines. There were no confirmations on her participation in the upcoming Miss Universe Pageant. A report by ABS-CBN now says Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres will sit as a judge during the preliminary competition and the coronation as well. The report says Miss Universe president Paula Shugart made this confirmation.
