Dayanara Torres, Miss Universe

The Puerto Rican Miss Universe 1993  Dayanara Torres came back to the Philippines last month to judge the Miss Universe 2016 pageant held at the Mall Of Asia Arena last Jan. 30. The former Miss Universe made the most of her stay as she has had several guesting in different TV talk shows in the span of her short visit like gracing “Gandang Gabi Vice” on Feb. 19.

There is no way the queen cannot delight the people of her second home. She may have left the country again in the meantime, but she sure did have the greatest times of her life during her short stay here.

Dayanara Torres With Vice Ganda

Dayanara proves that she is definitely a stunner on her guesting in the recent “Gandang Gabi Vice” Feb. 19  episode. The beauty queen mentioned firsthand that she is happy to again set foot in the Philippines which she considers her second home. Fans were in awe to hear her speak in Filipino after not being here for almost a decade now. Seems like this beauty really has a heart of a Filipino.

The short interview has revealed so much of Dayanara’s endearment to the Philippines. “And how lucky am I, seriously? Because if you think of it, I could’ve ended up in any other country and it would not have been the same. I am so thankful. I hope you know how thankful I am,” Torres said in the interview to express her gratitude to her very welcoming fans.

The talk show would not have been complete without Dayanara talking about her being a beauty queen. She relived the time she had during her Miss U pageant back in 1993 by having her signature beauty queen walk followed by her very own introduction.

Dubbed as the Philippines’ dancing queen, Torres got to dance the lambada in the show. Her grace justified the title given to her. Little did we know, too, that it was Dayanara who popularized the 90’s hit dance craze, Macarena. She could hardly remember the moves, though. But she managed to throw some steps away.

Talk show host Vice Ganda cannot help but express his delight to have Dayanara on his show. He said that Torres is the Miss universe forever and ever. “It’s an honor for me to be able to meet the Miss Universe 1993. Thank you so much, Miss Dayanara,” said Vice to express his gratitude to the beauty queen for having her on his show.

Dayanara Torres in the Philippines: A Throwback

Dayanara came to the Philippines in the year 1994 to crown her successor, Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen. After that, the queen found opportunity in the showbiz industry in the country that made her stay her for years. She was one of the original hosts of the Sunday variety show, “ASAP.” The stunning beauty queen is also remembered to have had four long years of romantic relationship with the matinee idol, Aga Muhlach. The love team moved the Filipino film industry with their top billing 1990’s classic hit movie, “Basta’t Kasama Kita”.

After the beauty queen left the country, she came back to Puerto Rico and became a mother. But it is really evident that she will always be a Filipina by heart. Torres promised her fans to come back again in the country soon. We are sure the entire Philippines surely cannot wait for that.
