Share on Facebook Share on Twitter If you like walking freely around town and discovering tiny pavements hidden beneath the streets of India, you might want to keep an eye out. Or better yet, avoid eye contact with the mutts hanging around, just gaping at your every movement. You might just end up getting bitten and waking up to your funeral. Sounds silly? That’s not this case for this Indian teen. Kumar Marewad Walks after Pronounced Dead Seventeen-year-old Kumar Marewad was on his way to a ceremony in Managundi Village, Dharwad, when a stray dog bit him. According to MSN, he was immediately rushed to the hospital and labeled his fever as ‘critically ill’ by the doctors. The infection from the dog bite had spread around the body. Experts also warned the family that if he did not have life support, he would not be expected to live long. Kumar’s parents transferred him home. And after a period of time, he stopped moving and breathing. His family pronounced him dead. The distraught family members prepared arrangements for Kumar’s funeral. And on the day of the ceremony, with merely two kilometers away from the venue, Kumar opened his eyes and started thrashing his arms and legs. The shocked parents rushed him to the hospital, uncertain of what just happened. His condition now is critical. Not Science Fiction This is hardly ‘coming back from the dead’ because, in an article written by Carla Valentine of The Guardian, she says that because death is a complicated process. According to her, death is not simply a single event so it may be that people may mistakenly assume that a body is dead. She mentions that temperature drops can affect brain cells that are deteriorating. She says that because of the cold, the cells will need much less oxygen and glucose; eventually putting them into what she calls a “hibernation state.” This state is somehow similar to the idea of “preservation” and “recovery.” Sounds pretty sci-fi at first, but it happens. For a rarity like this, it is indeed an unusual situation. Facebook Comments
