Death Wish, Bruce Willis

“The men who did it are out there. I’m gonna hunt them down, one by one,” says action icon Bruce Willis, playing as the family man turned vigilante Dr. Paul Kersey in the upcoming movie “Death Wish.” Willis returns to show just how much mercy a father’s love can afford to give.

Bruce Willis Gets the Good Surgeon a Death Wish

In the beginning, Dr. Paul Kersey’s life is as perfect as it can get. He has a perfect family and a meaningful purpose in life as a surgeon. But the world has a way of throwing up perfect lives and leaving them in splinters. In a brutal robbery attempt, Kersey’s wife Lucy (Elisabeth Shue) ends up dead and his daughter Jordan (Camila Morrone) is left in a coma. He turns to detectives Raines and Jackson (Dean Norris and Kimberly Elise) to bring his family the justice they deserve.

But when Kersey hopelessly asks if there’s anything he can do, what do they tell him? “You gotta have faith.” With the sight of the board filled with other unsolved cases, faith is irrelevant. Something snaps in Kersey and a death wish starts. Mess with anything, just never a good man’s family.Death Wish, Bruce Willis

Kersey’s brother Frank (Vincent D’Onofrio) reminds him that he was the kid who wasn’t afraid to fight back in their tough childhood neighborhood. Before his whole plan even began, Kersey was thrown into the pit of the monster when he came across a violent carjacking. Kersey successfully trashes the crime and the criminals.

A bystander’s cellphone video of his ‘heroic’ deed catapults him to be known as “The Grim Reaper,” a vigilante guardian angel. He is a doctor. He saves lives. But justice is just as vital to him. This one taste has led him to bulldoze any criminal he comes across, especially the ones involved in his wife’s death. As he comes closer to Knox (Beau Knapp), his wife’s killer, the city can only wonder what his true motives are. Who will win in the end? Is it the good doctor or the vigilante’s death wish?

This remake of the 1987 original film brings the psychology of Brian Garfield’s novel into the intricacies of a different generation. Set in the perspective of a man caught up in the middle of good and justice, Eli Roth gives “Death Wish” a new definition. Roth brings the world to the edge of their seats on this unforgettable suspense. There is just no stopping a man acting for his family.

“Death Wish” is to hit cinemas nationwide on March 1. Watch Death Wish trailer via MGM’s official YouTube.
