So it is no surprise that during the Lenten holiday, visitors flock to the Summer Capital with family or friends. Here is Pilipinas Popcorn’s round up of Easter activities in the city, both for the young and old. These activities bring fun for the kids and kids-at-heart while bringing adults closer to the meaning of the Lenten season. Easter Picnics, Egg Hunts, And Magic Shows With Baguio’s pleasant weather during summer, kids can enjoy frolicking in the outdoors better. The Manor and the Baguio Country Club brings back its traditional Easter picnic and Easter egg hunting this year. Baguio Country Club continues the Pokemon theme with its Pokemon Easter Egg Hunt on April 16. Starting at 9:00 a.m., the hunt is open to several age groups: 0-3 years old, 4-7 years old and 8-12 years old. The hunt will be held at the country club’s Infinity Garden with tickets priced at PhP 500 per child. Each child will get a snack, a basket for their Easter eggs. Kids will also be entertained with a Magic Show and fun Balloon Twisting demonstrations. Fun games and prizes are also in store for the kids. Check out the BCC Facebook page for details. The Manor is not to be outdone – it has its own Easter Egg Hunt with a picnic lunch. For PhP 750, the package also includes a Magic Show, an Easter loot bag and games. The Forest Lodge Slope will be the venue for this egg hunt, which will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. also on April 16. Ponder On The Real Meaning Of Lent Camp John Hay brings visitors to its own Spiritual Journey with a line up of masses, recollections and other activities. Not to be missed is its own version of Visita Iglesia, focusing on churches in the city of Baguio. This is slated on April 13, Maundy Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. For details, check out The Manor’s Facebook page. Baguio Country Club also has a unique musical performance with Haydn’s Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross. With a performance of musicians from St. Scholastica’s College, it brings to life the Lenten experience through music. This is scheduled on April 14, Good Friday, at 7:00 p.m. Easter Sunday is marked with an Easter Sunrise Service in Baguio. This ecumenical service is jointly celebrated by different church groups and will be held at sunrise on April 16. Those who are interested can proceed to the Rose Garden in Burnham Park.
