Eduard Folayang On Ting: It’s Not Going To Be Easy

Speaking to Sun Star, Folayang acknowledges that this is not going to be an easy bout. He said that Ev Ting is coming after his belt, which for symbolizes all the hard work in his MMA career. He added, “There is no way I’m just going to let him take it.”

The 27-year old Malaysian has 13 wins and 3 losses and is considered to be quite the rival of Filipino MMA fighters. One of Ting’s wins was against another Team Lakay member, Honorio The Rock Banario.

Folayang promises his fans that when it comes to the fight, he will put on his game face. He also likened any bout to taking the final exams, which when not taken seriously, will prove to be disastrous. He quipped, “Only one guy gets to walk out of the cage a winner, so I make sure that guy is me.”

Experts Weigh In On Folayang Vs. Ting

MMA experts through ABS-CBN Sports, have described this fight as an exciting match up. The Landslide Folayang makes use of his wushu skills to deal strikes against his opponents, plus he is quick on his feet and not easily pinned down. His winning bout against Shinya Aoki also showed that his wrestling moves are improving.

Ting on the other hand uses a conventional boxing style and usually goes for submissions. But he is said to be more aggressive in his fighting style and can still stand his ground standing.

ONE: Kings of Destiny happens on April 21 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
