Empoy Marquez, Vica Ganda, Angelica Panganiban

“Kita Kita” lead actor Empoy Marquez has apparently become the new hottie. In Angelica Panganiban’s Instagram post on July 29, the actor is seen stealing a kiss from the actress. When that kiss landed on her cheek, she joked saying “Na-hokage ako!” She got a kick out of Mr. Funny’s moves.

Although the video was already taken out of Angelica’s Instagram page, the Inquirer details out the unexpected event. In that video, Empoy asked Angelica if he could whisper something into her hear. Angelica hesitated at first because he smells like cigarettes. But after a few moments, she agreed. Empoy immediately kissed Angelica on the cheek catching her off guard. She laughed out load saying “hokage” over and over again.

Netizens and Movie Buffs Laud Empoy Marquez

Since Angelica posted the video, netizens could not help but post their reactions. One said that Empoy was a “lucky guy” while others called him “idol.” Another comment said “Ang kulit!” to Empoy’s sly naughtiness. Majority of the comments were Lol’s and Haha’s. That is just what happens when the Empoy moves start kicking in.

Empoy Marquez and Alessandra de Rossi’s film “Kita Kita” is widely received by movie fans.  In just one week, the not-your-usual romcom earned P90 million. A report by ABS-CBN says Piolo Pascual, one of the owners of Spring Films that co-produced the film said the success felt like a dream. He could not believe that the film earned beyond P60 million, which was what he first expected. Piolo said that it feels good that people enjoyed the film. “It’s about the story and the quality,” he says in closing.

An open letter to Kita Kita’s main characters, Lea and Tonyo, reflects the film’s success. The Philippine Star released an open letter written by a certain person named “Ricky” who has watched the film. He addressed the letter to Alessandra and Empoy’s characters, Lea and Tonyo expressing thanks for making him smile and laugh with their “happy-sad/bitter-sweet love story.” He thanks Lea for making him “see life and the world at large” with her heart. To Tonyo, Ricky says thanks for “showing all and sundry that an ‘ordinary’ guy could win the heart and soul of an ‘extra-ordinary’ girl like Lea.” Ricky even describes Tony as being “incontestably handsome” with his clean-cut look, his trimmed mustache and how specifically his shirt is buttoned all the way around his neck. Ricky gives his final thanks for teaching him how to see even with his eyes closed. It is at these instances where we see that a film is really worth seeing.

Empoy Marquez does the Ninja moves on Vice Ganda as well. On July 31, Alessandra De Rossie and Empoy Marquez were guests in Vice Ganda’s late night show, “Gandang Gabi Vice.” A game of pitik-bulag was played on the show and who ever loses gets a kiss from Empoy. Who lost that night? Well, it was Vice Ganda. Watch the video here to see the whole thing happen.
