Encantadia 2016: Memorable Moments

Encantadia Fans are probably crying like Pirena here

After eight months of witnessing the incredible fantastical world of Lireo, Encantadia has reached its end- for the second time. Just like the original series that aired from 2005-2006, the series reached a finale that got the viewers mushy with mixed emotions. Congratulations directors, because you managed to make everyone experience 40 minutes of anxiousness, surprise, kilig, and desire for more Encantadia.

But because we simply cannot have more, let’s look back at Encantadia’s five best moments:

Encantadia 2016 Most Memorable Moments

Sang’gres and Diwanis messing around

Even as children, the Sang’gres have always been a little mischievous. These are the moments where we see them in their nature. In fact, the moments where they fool around, fall in love and start hitting Imaw while screaming ‘Chanak!’ are the key incidents that make them more human despite their distant supernatural world. And these are the instances where people relate to them more.

Funny moments of other Diwanis include the time when the Diwanis Lira (Kate Valdez) and Mira (Mikee Quintos) were forced to face challenges to test their strength for the impending danger that is looming over their land. When Mira sings, she chokes on the flying insect. Classic move, Mira!

Sang’gres growing up

One of the first few episodes were glimpses of the four Sang’gres growing up. The montage of these playful little devils was pretty entertaining. Especially when they played around with their training and instead ran off to anywhere. They even complained a lot. They were still kids after all– not just the royalties they were expected to become.

Sorry to Aquil who had to babysit these kids. He must’ve been pretty stressed.

Kylie Padilla leaves Encantadia

Kylie Padilla’s exit on the hit TV series is definitely something that will never be forgotten by fans. Amihan had to leave to focus on her pregnancy.

Amihan’s death on Jan. 26 caused grief among “Encantadia” viewers. On that day, Kylie took to Twitter her messages to fans saying, “I want to thank everyone for the messages and tweets showing support for Amihan. She loves you too.” Just after an hour, she sent another tweet saying, “Everything’s going to be okay. E corrie diu.”

Danaya and Aquil moments

They aren’t the only pair everyone is rooting for, but because of their hot and cold treatment toward each other, they are irresistibly gush-able.

Seriously, what could be more romantic than sword fighting with your crush? Or the fact that Danaya (Sanya Lopez) was one of Aquil’s (Rocco Nacino) greatest headaches while he was still ‘babysitting’ the Sang’gres when they were little.

All the ‘I love you’s’, glares, and mean remarks? A+dorable Danquil!

Wise words from Imaw

When things get a little overbearing, Imaw (Noel Urbano) is there like the quiet confidant whose words are heavy with meaning. Especially moments with Paopao (Phytos Ramirez), you can really pick up grains of value and knowledge. In fact, Imaw has been teased as an ‘Aldub fan’ for his line: “Lahat ay mangyayari sa tamang panahon at pagkakataon.” Really cute, Imaw!

This little big-eyed, white-haired, Filipino-version of Yoda has always driven the characters into performing the things they say and fail to do. And for that, he’s the fans’ favorite. Without those conversations with Imaw, Encantadia might never be complete.

Wedding Finale

Of course, the last episode is one of the best moments. It gave us all the happy ending we wanted! Pirena (Glaiza De Castro) and Azulan (Marx Topacio) got married! Even the iconic duo Danaya and Aquil got hitched together. Absolutely a satisfying finale of events. Not to mention the cute little babies they gave birth to. Too many cute things on screen!

And just when you think you’ve reached the happy ending, things take a turn. A glass-like owl shows up and flies across the shore toward an eerily dark and icy palace. The owl then meets a scary Cassiopea (Solenn Heussaff) look-a-like who happens to be the latter’s twin sister. Big revelation right there! It then finishes with a line where she foreshadows her imminent invasion of Lireo.

Off-cam Encantadia love

Two days after the final episode of Encantadia, Cassiopea AKA Solenn Heussaff uploads the Char-aoke Encantadia version. Just when you thought you’ve seen them in their best moments, well, they can be awesome outside the set too.

In this vlog, Solenn sits with the Encantadia cast and does a couple silly games with them such as: Answering a random quick-fire question (to which Bananas were compared to Birds– weird). Solenn also asked her cast-mates to react to a scenario she would invent which resulted to hilarious reactions and acting from the group.

They even played a game called ‘PLAY, MARRY, MOMOL’ where Glaiza De Castro pretty much admitted she had a thing for Imaw and would choose him to ‘momol.’ Things got a little insane from there on out.

According to AGB Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) ratings, Encantadia got the rating of 13.8 %. Compared to ABS-CBN’s Ang Probinsyano that got 11.1 %, the Kapuso series got 1.9 points higher. Congratulations for a successful finale, Encantadia!
