In the picture, Gil is wearing shades and texting while the fan was posing for the picture at the airport. The picture was taken when Gil along with his ASAP cast and crew were at the airport on their way to Toronto Canada. They were set to perform at Ricoh Coliseum last July 28. According to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) the 25-year-old actor, he found out about the picture went viral when they were already in Canada. Mariolle Alberto, Star Magic Head and ABS-CBN talent-management told Gil about the negative comments coming his way for the picture. Alberto worried about what it may do to his career. Since people were judging the one fan photo calling out the actor for his attitude. Check the Enrique Gil About The Dangers of Social Media When Gil checked the fan’s Instagram account he found out the fan posted three photos with Gil. In two of the photos, the actor was looking at the camera. But despite the two other photos, people were focused on one picture in particular. PEP caught up with Gil at the Cinema News last September 10 during an event sponsored by Cheetos. A snack endorsed by Gil and Liza Soberano. He told the entertainment site that social media can be dangerous for artists like him and people should always take extra caution. Because one wrong move can be interpreted differently and can be edited. Gil then recalled the incident from July where sometimes how a fan can word or edit a caption in such a way that can alter how people see a certain celebrity. Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano’s Japan Photo It was not the first time the actor received hate online for a picture. The same report talked about an incident back in Japan with his loveteam partner, Liza Soberano. The two went to Japan as the newest tourism ambassadors of the Philippines. They received hate comments when a picture surfaced on social media of the two kissing inside a bus in Japan. People interpreted the photo as the two engaging in overt public displays of affection (PDA). Gil later clarified that the picture was taken during the morning and the two just saw each other so they greeted each other with a morning kiss. He emphasized that it was not even on the lips. The picture was taken at a different angle that it may appear the two are locking lips in a public transport. Gil adds that social media is now part of everyone’s lives, it’s hard to escape and there’s nothing one can do. Altered posts, edited captions, and the wrong photo can be seen as true to people. This fact hurts the actor even when he tries to brush it off. Facebook Comments
