EXCLUSIVE: Get To Know Baby Sam From ‘Home Sweetie Home’

Daddy Johanne, Mommy TP and baby Allegra.

People are constantly in awe of babies and how they can melt the hearts of anybody around them. For babies who appear in TV shows, such as baby Sam in ABS-CBN’s “Home Sweetie Home,” they need to have that “cuteness” factor to make the audience go “aww.” The baby who plays the part of Romeo (John Lloyd Cruz) and Julie’s (Toni Gonzaga) baby Sam in the show is baby Allegra Stefanie Adanza Valiente.

Pilipinas Popcorn was able to get in touch with baby Allegra’s parents, dad Johanne and mom TP, to get to know more about this amazing baby girl. Through several online exchanges, the couple gladly shared this part of their world, which we are happy to share with you too.

Baby Allegra As Baby Sam

Baby Allegra or Allie to her mom and dad, just turned one last January 9. According to her mom, she became part of “Home Sweetie Home” when she was seven months old. When asked how Allie got the part, Mommy TP said that she was approached by the show’s Executive Producer. This was because the babies they have seen so far did not fit the part. Both Mommy TP and EP Marvi Gelito previously worked together in other shows. The rest is history.

Proud, Watchful, Thankful

As Allie’s parents, Johanne and TP make sure that their daughter’s welfare is their top priority. While they are proud that Allie “looked” the part, they also admitted that they “felt very nervous because we wanted to make sure that Allie will be safe and protected while they are filming, that she will not be traumatized or overworked.” But so far, they were very happy to see that their daughter is being well taken care of and being treated like their own.” Their pride also comes from the fact their daughter is part of “a show that displays good Filipino values.”

In this arrangement, mom and dad always watch out for baby Allie’s well-being. According to them, she is made comfortable during tapings and her sleeping schedule is respected by the show’s staff. The fact that Allie has found “an extended family” through the show is one of the big pluses of this arrangement. They also follow the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) rule that a child must only “work” for four hours on the set. In fact, Allie also has a permit from DOLE for her “work.”

As with any parent, Johanne and TP emphasized that every night they ask God for guidance that they are doing the right thing for their child. Most important for them is that their child is happy and if they see “she is not enjoying or she does not want to do this anymore,” they will “decide to stop.”

You can watch baby Allie as baby Sam on ABS-CBN, every Saturday at 6:30 p.m. You can follow her through her Facebook page (Allegra Stefanie Adanza Valiente) and through Twitter and Instagram (@allegravaliente.)
