Here’s more about Jam Raquion a.k.a Jam Sexy Pants and the stories behind her top three favorite posts on Facebook. What inspired you to create the JamSexypants page? Actually, one of my friends suggested that I create a Facebook page since people seem to love the content that I’ve been uploading on my personal FB account. At first I was hesitant because I’d basically start from 0 again, but I wanted to challenge myself & I realized that it would be easier for people to watch or find my videos if I had a page that is solely dedicated to my videos. What’s your day job? I do not have a day job yet because I decided to pursue a postgraduate degree. What did you study in college, and are you able to draw from your college experience when managing your social media accounts? Whenever people who watch my vines or videos ask me what I took up in college, I think one of the least answers they’d expect would be, “I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Technology” because when you actually look at it, it’s quite unrelated. Haha. Sometimes they would just have that puzzled expression on their face which is actually pretty funny. I guess in some ways I’m able to incorporate some stuff I learned in college with managing my social media accounts, like in relation to the proper timing, the proper way of sending the message across & how to be a lot more relatable to people but to be honest, I do not overthink things when it comes to handling my social media accounts; I basically think of a concept, post my photos or videos, write a suitable description or caption & just hope for the best or hope that they’d appreciate my content, if my videos become viral then that’s awesome & if they don’t then it’s just okay, I just keep in mind that not every video can be gold & I think this way of thinking is the reason why people can easily relate to me or see that my intentions are pure. Among the materials you’ve shared, what are your Top 3 favorite posts, and why? Since I haven’t posted that much on my page because it’s relatively new I think I’d have to also choose content from my personal FB account. No. 3 would have to be my “Sorry” dance cover. I like this one because it has a bit of a sentimental value for me, this was actually the very first video that I posted on Facebook which reached a million views, I was able to debunk one of the fat streotypes claiming that fat people can’t dance as well as lighter people, almost all of the feedback were positive & it was featured on various plus-size pages, both national & internationally which had nothing but good things to say about me. Unfortunately it got deleted from my account due to copyright issues, but you can still watch it on my YouTube channel: Jam-packed if you want to. No. 2 would have to be all of my vines or my vine compilations, I know that this should not be included because it’s more than one but I just really have to. Without these vines I wouldn’t be able to branch out & create longer & more relatable content. I started officially filming & posting my shenanigans on the internet through Vine, my vines were the baby steps that I had to take before I could run in this cyberworld & I think these vines were actually the ones that enhanced my creativity because I was able to squeeze stories in just 6-second long clips. And taking the no. 1 spot would probably be my “Talkin’ body” post on my personal FB account. It took a lot of years, a lot of ups & downs & definitely a lot of courage before I decided & was actually able to post those photos. I had a lot of body issues for such a long time that finally being able to post that, with no hesitations, regrets or whatsoever was definitely liberating. It also made me happier when people from all around the world messaged me & thanked me, saying that I was able touch & inspire them with that simple post of mine; some said that it was a breath of fresh air, it made them realize that their body is perfect the way it is & that they should embrace & accept it, it gave them a new outlook on how they view their bodies & it gave them a boost of confidence as well, which I think is just swell because personally I believe that this is how social media be used, it should be able to send a positive message, enlighten people & make them just think more about things that would benefit all of us. How did you feel when your Versace dance raked in 2M views? (Is this the first time?) To be honest, whenever the views on my videos reach the 6-figure mark, like 100,000 views or higher, I already get thrilled, it would just make me ecstatic knowing that I have entertained a lot of people to the point wherein they watch it more than once & it would just make my day. So you could just imagine how in awe I am when my videos reach 1,000,000 views or higher. Sometimes I don’t even believe it, I think that maybe it’s a glitch & Facebook is just messing with me. Haha. But then I realize that the views are legitimate & it would just make me feel like maybe I am up to something good. Well, if you only consider the videos on my page, then yes, my Versace on the floor video would have to be the first one to reach 2 million views which is already an amazing feat for me, but if you’d also consider the videos that I have uploaded on my personal FB account, I think my “One dance” video is still my most viewed video to date, which reached 18,900,000+ views, which is just beyond me. What kinds of posts/media updates could we still expect from you? (We are looking forward to seeing more!) You’ll probably see more short clips, parodies, impersonations & dance covers from me in the future so I hope you guys will stay tuned. I’m just hoping that with my videos, I’d be able to just spread more good vibes & be able to lessen the stress that the viewers are having & that this will continue on for a long time. So yeah I gues what I’m saying is that as long as I can entertain & make people laugh or at least smile, I’ll keep on doing these things. You can’t get rid of me that easily. Facebook Comments
