Share on Facebook Share on Twitter If you enjoy watching videos on Facebook and YouTube, especially ones that make you laugh and think at the same time, you may have seen Kilimanguru. He posts video commentaries weekly about different topics but his most popular video of all times is Annoying Questions About Igorots. The video has over 800k views on Facebook alone and has been shared over 16k times. Pilipinas Popcorn reached out to Kilimanguru himself, via Facebook, of course. And he was more than willing to share a part of his story with us. Be ready to get to know Winston Kilimanjaro Creones Tiwaquen, a.k.a. Kilimanguru. Who Is Kilimanguru? Winston describes himself on Facebook as Mr. Sarcastic Talker, and he proves to be so in his videos. His sarcasm however borders on the funny and sometimes ridiculous side so he can be fun to watch. When asked when and how he started making videos, he says he started as early as his last year in high school. As a self-confessed YouTube addict. he wanted to be like his favorite YouTubers. He eventually decided to make his own videos because he “always wanted to have a voice and inspire others to be proud of who they are for as long as they do not hurt or cause pain to others.” He also wanted to be part of a community where it’s ok to be “weird” and “different.” Since then, he has been at it – thinking of topics to cover, writing scripts, and even coming up with his own way of “branding” his videos. All of this, he says he learned from Lilly Singh, a Canadian writer and YouTuber, who wrote How To Be A Bawse: A Guide To Conquering Life. One of the things Winston picked up from her is not “to rely on one thing to define what your success is.” An Ordinary Bloke: A Med Student Who Believes Family Is Everything Beyond the YouTube personality however, Winston is an ordinary bloke. He graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelors Degree in Communication and he is currently a 3rd year medical student also at SLU. He juggles student life with family life, which for him is the most important part of his life. Everything he has – values and principles, kindness, generosity, positivity, and identity – he says he gets from his family and his loved ones. Speaking of positive influence, he also shared some of the comments he got from viewers. On his most-viewed video about Igorots, one Facebook user thanked him for making the video because it helped clarify the common misconceptions about Igorots. This made him happy knowing that what he does not only makes people happy, but also serves a purpose. Catch Winston or Kilimanguru via his Facebook page. He uploads new videos every Monday and Friday. Facebook Comments
